The slur goes something like "you had one job to do", but because I'm a geek, immersed in IT and knowledgeable about webmaster things, I know it's a spoke in a wheel.
But when there's a Copyright List that every responsible FReeper goes to when posting from a source which isn't familiar, there's a reasonable expectation that following what's stated on the Copyright List page is correct.
I, for one, have MUCH BETTER things to do than to spend the time - repeatedly - posting something to FR only to have the message pop up "Post blocked due to copyright complaint".
What angers me is that if you took the time to write that code, you could also have expended a whopping minute to edit the HTML on the Copyright List page.
If it had only occurred once, no big deal. But this has happened to me on multiple occasions, this one on a day when I could rant about what is obviously failure to maintain the Copyright List in REAL TIME.
If it's not being maintained in real time, then it's inaccurate. So what's the point?
Oversight? 'On the list'? Didn't get around to it? It's "in the mail"? Or perhaps this function has been outsourced to non-English speakers?
I could care less. If the Copyright list is not accurate, get rid of it.
Rant over. Fire away; ICGAS.
I'll just be posting even more from bloggers :-)/s (i.e. "real" news)
just quit donating ... that’s what i did after years of donating when i kept having posts deleted for telling Freepers how i managed to obtain HCQ and Ivermectin from India ...
I use Ghostery -- to block trackers coming from Google, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, Doubleclick, Rubicon, etc. With most websites I visit, Ghostery will block 8 or 10 of them, but there's always a few trackers that bleed through.....
On all Free Republic pages I view -- zero trackers are detected. 0. None. :)
All 'cause I enjoy seeing your own butthurt rants about others and the fact that it pisses you off makes me smile.
Indeed.
-----------------------
My point exactly. If I think something is really important I'll post a link referencing it elsewhere. But today I realized that that doesn't address the matter and I'd never seen anyone else complain about it.
Done.
It’s way too tedious to post on this site anyway.
And I never understood why mainstream media sources were legit and opinions of normal Americans (from their blogs or websites or just from their minds) were mocked and put down as not legitimate enough. When you realize what these last few decades of mass media have done to Americans, it’s a shame we legitimized them here.
Damn!!! ‘Gunner is growing a sense of humor!
care
...
(4). In negative and conditional construction: a. not to care passes from the notion of ‘not to trouble oneself’, to those of ‘not to mind, not to regard or pay any deference or attention, to pay no respect, be indifferent’.
...
(c) Colloq. phr. (I, etc.) couldn’t care less: (I am, etc.) completely uninterested, utterly indifferent; freq. as phr. used attrib. Hence couldn’t-care-less-ness.
(d) U.S. colloq. phr. (I, etc.) could care less = sense (c) above, with omission of negative.
- Oxford English Dictionary
To-wit: I know what I meant.
Got that right. On both counts.
How much less could you really care?
I like that - far better than I could ever explain it.. I tried it with someone I graduated with back in the “old days” and left him totally confused.
Nicely played
Neither did they have “Cosmic Cabbage”, my personal favorite.
Burma Shave.
I remember as a kid reading those Burma Shave signs along the highway.
I went to Fry’s
Bought some Ahi tuna
Cooked it in oil
Pretty good
pretty good. but it lacks the all important rant factor.
Now that one is pretty funny too!
I admit to finding humor in this...:)
