Former President Barack Obama believes reparations are “justified” and suggests one of the reasons he couldn’t get it through during his tenure was due to “white resentment.”
Obama made the racially divisive remarks during a podcast with musician Bruce Springsteen.

There are no slaves or slave owners alive in the US. There is no such thing under common or natural law for passing debts onto future generations. Also slavery was not universal and not each and every person is responsible. Even blacks were slave owners and from what I have read, the first slave owner was black. However, if the Communists want to go down that road, the only identifiable group responsible for US slavery is the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party is also fully and solely responsible for the KKK, Jim Crow laws, and segregation. Therefore, all Democrats and only Democrats should pay any and all reparations, personally, not the Federal Government and not the State governments.
So since he says white resentment, does that mean that Asian people and Hispanic people will be exempted? What about Native Americans?

In making an inflammatory accusation, diminishing the past hard labor of many immigrant groups, Obama weasels his way out with weasel words. This from someone who never worked in the private sector except scooping ice cream as a summer job.

Yes, of course. Scooping out rocky road is a tougher job than coal mining, laying out railroad track, sheetrocking, or house framing.
But it ignores Hispanic and Asian resentment, not to mention resentment of European Americans who either had ancestors who fought in the civil war or whose ancestors arrived after that time.

We still are built on slavery. If you don’t think slavery is alive and well in this day and age, we are kidding ourselves. I’m sure lots of our precious metals are mined by slave children in Africa and China is reported to use prison labor for our cheap goods. Hard to keep our supply chain “clean.”

160 years ago and only some states had slaves.
Reparations are justifed. ANY former slave should get made whole from the tort committed against them.
Some person similar in appearance 160 years after the fact should not.
Today’s blacks left behind are their by their own lack of ethics and morals.
If you are black in America the world is your oyster if you can get the an education and a good attitude. Merely not being a doper or thug and being somewhat well spoken is enough to launch you into the stratosphere.
The “building” aspect of slavery ended about 160 years ago. And there was no slavery in the North to speak of, and that is where most of the building occurred. The building in the South was all destroyed during the Civil War.
And if slaves built the country, what did all those millions of whites build?
