That “Irish slave” scam thing isn’t even as close to the same thing. They were captured where they lived, put in chains and brought here by force. They weren’t put on auction blocks, they were sold separately from family members. There were bought and sold. It wasn’t lifelong.
Indentured servitude is not slavery, it is a labor contract and that’s it. The African slave trade was a whole different thing. Africans were basically viewed as farm animals. There’s nothing wrong with saying it was evil thing and it wasn’t anything like being Irish.
Irish along with other Europeans were captured and treated that way by Barbary pirates, but not here in America.
That kind of thing does our side a disservice.
Lets get this straight. The biggest destroyer of cities was the loss of economic viability cased by unnecessary corporate greed, lowering or elimination of import tariffs, putting up with the world's mercantilism, offshoring and globalism.
There was a time when I would have expected such nonsense as this to redound to the benefit of the GOPee, but not anymore. I can no longer believe that the lying liars in the GOPee would even have a problem with this anymore. In fact, they’d very likely implement it. They most certainly can’t be relied on to oppose this sort of thing. GOPee Delenda Est!
Tearing off a scab and putting salt on it was never a good remedy. It’s hard to know where to begin in pointing out the problems with implementing “reparations”. It’s a terrible idea on so many levels.
There is no country on earth where Africans have been able to prosper better than the USA. Take your reparations and stuff them where the sun don’t shine. You can bet this reparation deal will cover modern day African immigrants, blacks from Latin American countries, mulattos etc.

Only way “reparations” should be paid is if the person getting it steps off the plane permanently in Africa. Then only in local currency.
Actual reparations were paid in blood, 1861-1865. Over 700,000 dead, tens of thousands of arms, legs, eyes, given to the cause, families destroyed, farms and lively hoods destroyed.
This war even managed to pull in the Indian Tribes of the west, as many of the tribes joined the South in that fight.

I spent a lot of time praying for this man, but finally God removed the burden from me. It’s a sad day when one realizes there is no need to pray for the salvation of a living soul.

Why? It is just history. In the old west, it was legal to walk up behind the guy that shot at you yesterday and shoot him on the back of the head. Times change. Sometimes for the better. The world was never supposed to be the garden of eden. Our ancestors got thrown out of there.

My point was that there were other peoples traded in slavery than just Africans. Whether you want to call them not slaves because they were serving differently than the field hands, is fine. But they were captured, taken from their homes, and put at the servitude of pre-American citizens. They weren’t hired and I’ll bet you won’t find their signature on any contracts for their release.
There are a lot of people out there that don’t believe we landed on the moon, or that the holocaust didn’t happen, or Marylyn Monroe committed suicide… It just has to have people read into it.

Notice, however, that the suburbs “hung in there” while most cities never came back from the 1960s riots.
In the nearest large city (CT) you can still see the faded out hebrew letters in the old buildings where working jewish people used to live.
After the 1960s riots working folks fled the city and never returned.
Those areas have been ghettos since the 1960s because anyone with any resources is terrified to move into the area.
MEXICO banned slavery in 1829, yet fifty years later slave raiding parties were still slipping into the USA to capture American Indians for sale in Mexico.
