Ka-ching!
Got a call on my answering machine from someone claiming to be from Amazon billing. Said a $900 phone was charged to my account and that they would be delivering the phone to Albequerque if I did not take action.
I double checked accounts and there was nothing. It was a scam, of course.
Last fall we were selling my parents house and one day I found 6 different debit cards in their mailbox - all with different names but all with my parents address.
We called the bank and they said it was a very common unemployment scam where they used the address of homes that were on the market and appeared to have nobody living there. At least we stopped them this time from stopping by and checking out the mailbox and finding their loot.
We then called the police and had them pick them up and make a report - just in case.
::They closed the account and suggested that we contact the credit bureaus and the state unemployment office and our local police department.::

Why should that task be upon you? The bank should be doing those calls.
it’s really gotta suck to be as miserable as you are...
The worst ones were from "Microsoft Technical support dept." informing me that they were receiving error reports. I know these are scams but sometimes I asked them questions that revealed their lies and told them that all liars shall have their part in the Lake of Fire but they still kept calling.
Every state allows you to lock your three credit reports.
That’s all LifeLock does, and they charge you $30 a month.
If you have your credit reports locked, nobody can open accounts in your name.
Yes, e-vil hates the Light.
Scientology might put you on mailing lists for offending them!
Same here in Texas. Our hard earned money headed off to Zimbabwe.
You've got to be on your toes at all times with these scammers. It's sad how many people are taken to the cleaners every day, because they don't check things out before turning over their personal info.
And I really do hope he does both! With the "unclaimed funds" scammers we could respond that we also would like to tell them about a most substantial unclaimed payment, and that unless it is personally claimed then they will be faced with a future penalty that they will never be able to pay off.
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (1 Peter 3:18)
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; (Hebrews 2:3)
My daughter’s ex BF is a heroin addict. There used to be tons of this type mail going to their house when they lived together. She gave it to me and I dropped it off at the police station.
You didn’t think the identity fraud was going to stop at stealing your vote, did you?
“Not at this address”
We were afraid someone was using our address for fraudulent activity and it was better to get on top of it.
You do not know my wife. She is tenacious.
We are the second owners and know the previous family. We do sometimes get mail for other people on the street. This person did not live in this area. The police checked and no one with his name lived in the state.
Ohio. We are also having a problem with unemployment fraud.
