We all knew it was coming yet when the passing of the great Rush Limbaugh was announced, we were all shocked. In this video I share a couple of my personal Rush Limbaugh near encounters of the very strange, bordering on supernatural, kind.
Rush Limbaugh: 1951-2021.
Steve Kane Show Remembers Rush Limbaugh
PING!
I spent much of the day yesterday grieving for our loss. The hole he left in our lives is huge.
This morning I recalled a day in 1977. I was at work: I worked for a large multinational company. An up and coming star in the company was with me. This guy was slated to become a VP. We stepped outside to watch a remarkable electric storm to the north of us. As we were watching this lightning show, we heard an announcement on the radio that Elvis Presley had died. I commented that was a shame.
The man with me turned and said, “No, you don’t understand. This changes everything.”
I later heard the man had left the company. I ran into him years later. He was unemployed and homeless. I asked him what happened and he said, “After Elvis died nothing mattered anymore.”
I’m not headed that way, but a major source of sanity and perspective is gone from my life.
I loved the video PJ. The word ICON is ruined from overuse, but Rush was a touchstone. Meeting him and having him talk to me and millions of other of his students virtually, was a gift from God. Mark Steyn said it best. If there is anyone who wishes to read what Steyn said so perfectly, hunt it down. You didn’t really care, if you do not do so. Thanks PJ,
Thank you and Rush Ping***
Found and printed Mark’s column on Rush’s passing...
I turned the Atlanta radio station on and the host is playing old shows of Rush’s - great to hear his voice. I wish we could hear it every day. The host was very emotional when the broadcast started and I’m not sure who it is but he’s doing ok now.
Thanks...

Todd Herman is the host today.
Very nice.
Thank you.
Rush had also read an email i had written to him …he read it on the air..,,and of all things….it was about the ‘circus elephants’. LOL.
I rarely disagreed with him on anything, but one day at work i heard him talk about the great the life the circus elephants had, and me being very familiar with them at that Flea Market T-bird, and what I would describe as a life of hell , I fired off a pretty long email to him just sputtering and spitting my disagreement. Well, after the next commercial break …he read it...and said my whole name!! I was beet red sitting there at work hoping no one I worked with heard it ....LOL. I’ll never forget it.
I had a couple friends, including my brother who heard it though…ha.
Anyway.....enjoyed your video...
Yeah, those T-Bird elephants stunk horribly. That is something you don’t understand by watching them in movies or videos. That they have a horrible stench. Plus I don’t think they liked performing the same tricks day after day after....
Correction: It was the T-Bird Flea Market in Margate. I hated what happened to it. It had a great vegetable section. Then the city of Margate bought it from Preston Henn, supposedly to develop into some sort of city project. The end result is it still remains an empty field. The main thing it is now used for is as a site for tacky carnivals that pass thru town.
Todd Herman, he is a soldier for Conservatism. Also extremely emotional. He is who I listen to from 6-9 and will no matter. As long as he has a show, he has my attention.
