The Senate voted 57-43 on Saturday to acquit former President Donald Trump of “incitement of an insurrection,” with seven GOP senators joining Democrats in voting “guilty.”

Republican Senators Richard Burr of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania voted to convict the president, along with 50 Democratic senators. However, a two-thirds vote was needed to convict Trump.

I don’t usually go for conspiracy theories but I am starting to wonder if these politicians really are having their families threatened. There is almost no other way to explain it.

I mean I can see them being wrong about policy differences - like gun control, abortion or borders - but going along with these impeachment hoaxes? Going along with the stealing of elections?

These senators are simply too “plugged in” to be that oblivious. It is impossible that they don’t know these narratives and hoaxes are all lies.
