The Senate voted 57-43 on Saturday to acquit former President Donald Trump of “incitement of an insurrection,” with seven GOP senators joining Democrats in voting “guilty.”

Republican Senators Richard Burr of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania voted to convict the president, along with 50 Democratic senators. However, a two-thirds vote was needed to convict Trump.

The Dem House managers and their media have got to stop saying this was a “bipartisan vote”, it was NOT.

A Bipartisan vote is when you have both parties voting on either side of the issue, this did not have that.

It’s like how Dems use the word compromise. To them, compromise is when 100% of the Dems vote the same way and a few Republicans buckle under and vote with them.

BTW, which lawyers had their houses invaded by insurrectionist mobs? Not the Dem lawyers and Dem leaders who incited this. The media sure is quiet on this mob action.

To me, Burr was the only “new” appearance. The others were expected.

Cassidy and Burr are in the second tier of the “the usual suspects.”

As for the first tier, Sasse, and to a greater extent, Toomey, unfortunately, seems to have”grown”, and while not quite as predictable as the other so-called “RINOs”. With Collins and Toomey one has a political necessity argument, while Murkowski and Mittens have been snakes from the beginning.

Throw the seven turncoats out of the party.

Those are the victim's fault. Should have known better than to oppose the legitimate government and rule of law.

As we know by now, this isn't a war between Democrats and Republicans...or even conservatives versus liberals.

It's a war between the Ruling Establishment (autocrats in government, business, media, and so on) and those loyal to the Constitutional Republic.

Bishop Romney(CARE, Utah, Ukraine), taking time from
his throuples (under code-name "Delecto") on his way
to destroy America's beloved Pres. Donald Trump for
the Bishop's coven of polygamist followers and sex traffickers.

The entire proceeding was illegal and unconstitutional. How anyone voted does not matter. PDJT should sue to have the sham thrown out.

Trump has never had a victory that someone did not step in and try to tarnish and smear it, to try to make the smear more memorable than the victory. That is what these seven vile cretins did.

This man and Paul Ryan were GOp candidates for POTUS and VPOTUS.

Just saying, he IS the face of a substantial part of the GOP. Most of the skunks are lying in wait, and lying to the public.

Sasse is real bipolar/schizophrenic. He’ll defend the Constitution very vigorously many times then goes demented with a vote like this one.

Not surprised by a single of the RINOs listed. Not even Pierre Delecto.

If there was ever a time for President Trump to roll out a new Patriot Party, it’s now. The GOP has backstabbed him one too many times.

If I’m not mistaken, Burr and Toomey are not running again so they don’t have to face Republican Voters again....

Romney will not run again in 2024 when his term is up, Trump is gone and is only real purpose in running for the Senate was to oppose Trump...

Cassidy and Murkowski are the two most vulnerable, hopefully the good people of Nebraska will get fed up with Sasse and send him packing when his time is up....

Burr is a scumbag, remember he was the head of the Senate Intelligence Committee who received classified information about Covid then went out and traded stocks before the information was made public....

The good people of Alaska actually did get rid of Murkowski at one time, she was defeated in the Republican Primary and then ran as a write in independent and won...so she has no real allegiance to Republicans.
