The timeline of President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial remains uncertain as the Senate came back from recess Tuesday to confirm a spate of President-elect Joe Biden’s Cabinet nominees.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) provided no clear indication over when Democrats would formally transmit the article of impeachment to the Senate that charged Trump with “incitement of insurrection” for his lead in the riots on the U.S. Capitol building.
“In terms of the timing, as I mentioned, one week ago, on January 6th, there was an active insurrection perpetrated on the Capitol of the United States incentivized by the President of the United States,” Pelosi told reporters Friday. “One week later, Wednesday to Wednesday, that President was impeached in a bipartisan way by the House of Representatives. So urgent was the matter they’re now working on taking this to trial, and you’ll be the first to know when we announce that we’re going over there.”

I like how you think! Unlike during Trump’s sham impeachments there will be no need to manufacture evidence to convict him and remove him. Like that’ll ever happen. . .
That is a bill of attainder.
I cant even see the SCOTUS going along with that. But, I couldnt see the scotus going along with 4-5 states violating the US Constitution either so..
We support Trump. Not the GOP
The Uni-party - shredding the Constitution for fun and profit.
Personally I think all this impeachment is, is a ace for the Washington establishment (Democrats AND Republicans) to keep in the back pocket to shut Trump up. If President Trump keeps quiet and spends his days on the golf course, impeachment will never see the light of day, but the second he starts talking about running in 2024, starting a news channel or forming an independent party, then -BAM- impeachment hearings will begin.
An exercise in futility, but what the heck, as long as the Senate busies itself with impeachment, that is how long it shall be until they take up consideration of Biden’s Cabinet and ambassadorial nominations. And they can be strung out over MONTHS.
No other business need be taken up by the Senate in all that time. A lot of mischief won’t be carried out.
Slow-walking bills and other business is such a luxurious exercise.
They don’t want to impeach Biden. They’ll declare him incompetent and install the woman.
“They don’t want to impeach Biden. They’ll declare him incompetent and install the woman.”
I’ve heard that before, but that makes absolutely no sense. Kamalama Ding Dong will be no more compliant than old Joe. They are FINE with Joe being in there for at least 2 years, so she can run as POTUS twice more. And they need to do that in a way as to hoodwink the old school Democrats.
I agree, we’ve seen a lot of things we never thought we’d see, so who knows what SCOTUS would decide? Or maybe they’d do what they did with the election challenges, decide not to decide.
It’s why they were ‘elected’ isn’t it???
2024 could be a snap if the GOP establishment has banned Trump, so Trump runs as head of a new party and the GOP nominates Nikki Haley or John Kasich. 1912 scenario.
Cabinet positions are always a priority.
Hopefully there are some people with (xxx) in the Senate.
The Senate can disqualify Trump from ever holding Federal office if convicted
