During any protest there are bad apples. Yesterday was a peaceful protest for the most part. But Republicans just can't wait to throw their own under the bus. This is why we will not win any more elections. We are on a battleground. The Republicans show up with their Bibles and Constitutions and eloquent op-eds. The Democrats show up with their lawyers, corrupt judges and brass knuckles. Trump showed up with his lawyers and brass knuckles and that is why he was so successful. You get what I am saying? We will always lose that battle. And yesterday we lost with the help of the swamp Republicans who think they still matter. They will soon realize that the base is gone.

Far too many Republicans think we should all take a knee to the left and apologize for the actions of a couple of hundred yahoos out of 100k+ Trump supporters.

Snowflake virtue signalling like that will signal to the left that we submit. They will then demand support for every aspect of their agenda ... or else!

You are correct, the GOP will not win any more elections. “we have developed the most extensive vote fraud network, ever.” Joe Biden

A bunch of clowns got in the Capitol and destroyed stuff. That said, who's responsible for the Capitol security? Something's up.

This is turning out to be more like the Reichstag Fire where the Left consolidates their power and goes after anyone who dares to oppose them.

Yes, it's exactly like that.

Who directed the Capitol Hill Police to aggressively usher the rioters in? They didn't decide to do that on their own.

“We will always lose that battle”

That’s what I hate about you drama queens with your idiotic vanity threads. You give up easy and demoralize the rest of us. There are Freepers who GAVE UP the night of Nov 4. Go ahead and cry for the next 4 years you pansy ass whiner.

Agreed. Too many of us lack focus and believe that we know it all. We need to educate ourselves and make it a lifelong pursuit.

Then we need to educate others. In politics, the first success comes after offering as many voters as possible what they want. The second success comes after giving them what they need. The third success comes with not being bothered too much by finding out that the work is never finished.

Feel free to improve that.

Ashli Babbitt was a courageous activist and patriot. We should be making posters of her and we should even pay for videos honoring her memory.

So many Freepers flippantly dismiss her as “misled”. She was taking action. I should have been up there at her side instead of down on the Capitol steps. She was braver than I. She was getting into position where her voice could be heard among those about to sell our Republic down the river.

And where are our conservatives? Who is speaking out and demanding answers for the murder of Ashli Babbitt? If any prominent conservative has spoken out on her behalf, I’ve missed it.

It is why many intend to leave the Republican party. Myself included. I don’t cotton to their betrayal.

I am an elected County Supervisor in my 3rd term having knocked out a three term Republican incumbent in a landslide victory and have run unopposed since. I have Overturned AZ State law that I believed Was Unconstitutional (when everyone said I couldn’t) saving my County $800k and went to Washington and overturned Federal Policy which saved the fishing industry in my District. I sm a County Previnct Committeeman and I am The First Vice Chair of my County Party and have been for a decade. I am an active member of the az federation of Republican Women and was President of my local Republican Women’s Club for six years and raised membership in one year from 24 to 182 which was a national record for which I won awards. i am also a State Committeeman for the AZ Republican Party. I knock on doors and register people to vote tirelessly. Last year I donated almost $5000 to candidates. I was asked by Governor Ducey to join his Transition Team right after he was elected Governor in 2012 and was Martha McSally’s regional Director this election. I was a voting delegate at the national Convention in 2016 casting my vote for our great President Donald J. Trump. I think I can say with certainty I know politics.

If you can even come close to my resume then maybe I will care about what you have to say about me.

She was a victim of Antifa, who arranged with the Capitol police to let the rioters in, and then made sure it was not one of them who led the charge and got shot.

She wasn’t really a victim of the Capitol police guy who shot her. Maybe of the ones who made the deal with Antifa.

That’s how I see it anyway. Tell me if I’m wrong.

I'm with you.   Sad but true.   As a Southerner it pained me a little to recognize this a couple of years ago about President Trump.   But it was a quote of Abraham Lincoln's regarding General Grant, as related by a Pennsylvania politician, Alexander McClure, that sums up the worth of President Trump for me, and I think all of us:
“I appealed to Lincoln for his own sake to remove Grant at once, and, in giving my reasons for it, I simply voiced the admittedly overwhelming protest from the loyal people of the land against Grant’s continuance in command. I could form no judgment during the conversation as to what effect my arguments had upon him beyond the fact that he was greatly distressed at this new complication. When I had said everything that could be said from my standpoint, we lapsed into silence. Lincoln remained silent for what seemed a very long time. He then gathered himself up in his chair and said in a tone of earnestness that I shall never forget: ‘I can’t spare this man; he fights.'
All of our cowardly, but feigningly civil, Republicans should be like Grant, and Trump.

I’m not really into throwing down credentials to start a conversation, and it really shouldn’t be necessary. Nor am I into telling people what’s what when I don’t have a clue who or what they are.

That said, I see or perhaps don’t see what is unsaid or unseen between the header of this thread and the credential throw down. What is Hildy doing, throwing “it” all away or what?

And if throwing it all away, why?

And if not, why the header, what’s Hildy’s plan for the future. When a party loses it’s base, there isn’t much left, is there?

Every time I see the emotional reaction, I’m never voting again, or I’m never voting Republican again, or I’m changing my voter registration to Independent it tells me someone doesn’t understand open, and closed primaries, or political strategy and messy politics and is taking the easy way out to divorce themselves from reality. I don’t put Hildy in that boat and you haven’t expressed it either.

BUT, you left things open and I’m still confused as to the reason for the thread. And maybe I’m dense or age could be a factor born early ‘40.
