We are still the world’s largest economy. We spend more on our military than the next ten nations combined, and that money buys some terrific weapons. Additionally, our soldiers are better motivated and far better trained than any in the PLA, a force of terror and intimidation.
But, they will take heavy losses, both in terms of personnel and equipment. So, if we want the answer to be “can America defeat China in a war?” to remain “yes,” then we need to make further investments in our military. We cannot be like the British Empire in World War I or II, where they had a small expeditionary force at first, and losing many troops would be disastrous.
America needs to invest in its shipyards to it can repair vessels quickly and build far more of them, both for cargo transportation and for fighting. We need to train more troops and expand both the Navy and Air Force; buying more submarines, destroyers, bombers, and fighter jets. We need to sell the best and most dollar-efficient equipment possible to Taiwan, Japan, India, Australia, and South Korea so that they can fight China too. Missile defense against both cruise and ballistic weapons must be expanded. And, of course, we need to improve our cyber-security and cyber weapons so that we can defeat China in the cyber realm.

China will run over the USA in 2021 since Biden and Obozo have been bought and paid for......These clowns have received millions from the Chicoms.
We could never win a ground invasion or “conquer” China. Best to keep them in their space. The people would not see it as a “liberation.”
Why do you assume that?
Yes. The nationalistic fervor would override their economic privation.
There is almost no rational basis for the US to be involved in a conventional war on the Asian landmass. MacArthur was right. As Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan has showm America can only get bogged down, suffer casualities, squander immense resources and fail to achieve political goals when involved militarily in Asia.
Yey it should be understood that China, a country plauged by food and electricity shortes, a communist party central bank that habitually squanders capital is not the juggernaut that some in American intelligence and the Pentagon portray. Truth be told the political leadership is reluctant to go to war and risk the huge backlash that casualities among their “one child” soldiers would generate. Also most of its equipment, especially its Air Force and armor are bad, outmoded copies. If anything China would fight a limited “Sabine” war with fair skinned Vietnam or Thailand to obtain fertile females. Thanks to their “one child “policies and the preference for males, there is a critical shortage of Chinese born females to mate with those “one child” males.
This is why they interfered in the election, with their Democratic and Republican Party friends, to subvert the 2020 election.

Slight edit.
The Big Steal is BIPARTISAN.
“ A war with China would be absolutely insane, beyond hell on earth and would last forever, no way we could win against a country with a population of 1.5 BILLION I don’t care how much more advanced we are militarily. How are you going to take a military of about 1.5 million and control 1.5 billion people? Look how long it took to get a handle on Iraq and Afghanistan which is still effed up.”
*************
A war with China would not be nuclear nor traditional war as we may think of it. While there may indeed be incidents of traditional warfare such as with Taiwan, Vietnam, etc, the war between China and the US will be predominantly cyber warfare, cyberspace, satellites, etc. there will not be US boots on the ground on mainland China. Btw, our super carrier fleet is now obsolete much the same as battleships were going into WWII.

You’re right. That’s the wild card here.
Whether or not you believe that WuFlu was intentional as opposed to a freak accident, you can bet your bottom dollar that China, Russia, and others learned from this bio war scenario played out in the real world.
China cannot afford a war. Wars cost money. It’s better to just be an intimidator. We can’t really fight a war with China. They are too far away. We would need a nearby base of operation like we had with England in WW2.
Not only that, China would have to fight a war with an army of only children. The parents would revolt.
In any conflict take out the Three Gorges Dam first. Then mop up what’s left.
Not without THE WILL TO DO SO!
It depends on where this war will be fought.
You think the CCP can control 1.5 billion people without food?
The Japanese method of moving production of Japanese branded products out of China is the right path forward.
We have Commiela and she’s an Indian. India can attack from the west. Nothing to worry about. Do I need to put an s after this?
You mean like India
Red China can’t project force very far; while they build hardware to do so, they don’t have what is required to sustain a conflict elsewhere. They are a regional power militarily while a global power in decline economically (being ruined by cheaper Asians to the south).
Not with the cowardly mask zombies and the despicable defeatists I’ve recently been seeing on FR. Thank goodness these surrender monkeys were not around in the late 1770’s. If they were we would still be British subjects.
Correct! Military power depends directly on strength of economy. Weak economy can never be a strong military or super-power. This lesson has repeated again and again in history.
