(vanity) How are COVID people here? My mom may have it.

Sort of a combo thread here.

My mother had a short outing with a friend on Sat. Her friend called Tues to say she was pos for COVID, in the hospital. Now, my mother is clearly ill and today, her doctor said to get tested tomorrow, and quarantine for 2 weeks.

I and my household family were with her Sun, and I have been with her today to help with the televisit stuff, and tomorrow for the test. Again, we should quarantine and wear masks at home, etc.

We are concerned generally, but especially for my mom. She is 83, has many issues but not really any chronic problem, except alleged COPD - which honestly is probably really because of her MAJOR double scoliosis interfering with her organs.

I am 71 and my wife is 70. We both had the China flu back in January. We were both sick for several days and then recovered. Have only worn mask when in hospital for cancer treatment. Hope your Mom gets through this and try to not give in to the fear mongers. Prayer and a good attitude make for a potent combination.

It is the strangest disease. We know a family who all had it - 2 parents, 6 grown kids. The older parents (In their 60s) have all kinds of health issues but they did a lot of the supplements we’ve all talked about. The kids all were fine, minor symptoms, except the youngest one in his 20swho ended up in the hospital on oxygen for about 6 days. He’s doing ok now.

My 85-year-old mom had it last spring. She had a difficult time for about 10 days but recovered without going to the hospital or telling her doctor. She has co-morbidities.

She lost her appetite for several months and lost about 35 pounds. She’s fine now with no ongoing issues.

Her Dr put her on the drug the leftist tried to outlaw because it works (Chloroquercitin and an anti viral cocktail.)

I’ve been asymptomatic for 2 years so I may have had it or may not. I won ‘t take or test because the test is only good the day you take it and there’s a 50/50 chance the results are wrong anyway and I won’t take the supposed vaccination.

A “real” vaccination is the administration of a vaccine to help the immune system develop protection from a disease. Vaccines contain a microorganism or virus in a weakened, live or killed state, or proteins or toxins from the organism.

The supposed COVID vaccinations available are mRNA which aren’t vaccinations at all. These mRNA injections instead, teach our cells how to make a protein—or even just a piece of a protein—that triggers an immune response.

Basically it’s altering our immune response to respond to COVID vice giving a weakened microorganism or virus that our immune system would figure out fight on it’s own.

I am male, 67, and in modestly good health with no comorbidities. I became so ill the first week of March that I could barely take care of myself. The sinus and lung problems were no worse than the flu. Mostly I suffered from exhaustion. I had a relatively low fever. The worst symptoms lasted approximately a week, but I was barely functional for the next three weeks after that. The doctor diagnosed me as most likely having Covid 19. However the test was negative. The nurse told me that the test they were using at the time had a less than 50% success rate. I don’t know if I actually had Covid. Total recovery took about two and a half months. Over time, I became more and more functional.

Vitamin D is essential also.

9 days in and feeling decent. Severe fatigue and loss of taste/smell have been the biggest issues I’ve had with it. I’ve had bouts with flu that took me down harder than this.

I just got out of my “quarantine” period after having it. My daughter came to visit the weekend before Thanksgiving. Her boyfriend tested positive with symptoms on that Monday back at campus. He was moderately sick, like the flu.

My daughter started getting minor symptoms on that Tuesday, and had a positive test on Wednesday back near her campus.

On Thursday (Thanksgiving), my 15 year old special needs son, started having a fever and a runny nose and he tested positive later. Later a cough developed, which he had for about one week, and now seems to be getting better.

Also on Thursday, I manifested minor symptoms, but was completely recovered after about 3 days (headache, runny nose, minor cough, slight fever). My wife later tested positive but never had any symptoms.

My 78 and 82 year old in-laws that came over for Thanksgiving got it a few days later. My MIL, never showed symptoms, and my FIL had what he described as a “cold like” illness with a minor fever for about 2 days. Both are fine now and finishing their quarantine period. They have never been afraid of it and have said “what will be will be” the whole time.

The entire experience left me feeling even more convinced that healthy people (even healthy elderly people) have nothing to worry about for the most part. However, it does spread incredibly efficiently.

It was interesting that only the males came down with anything qualifying as an illness for a few days.

Interesting in all these stories, very few actually came out and stated categorically that they were swabbed and TESTED POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2.

Further, none of them stated the CT (Cycle Threshold) amplification of the PCR test.

Further, none of them revealed how many times they were tested during their bout with the virus. Next time, more data please.

I have a friend in UK who told me his daughter had spent a week fighting it off. I asked what test they used, CT value, etc., and he replied, "Oh she wasn't tested and never went in to the hospital." When I asked how they knew it was SARS-CoV-2, he replied, "She just knew she had it." Lot of baloney going around, along with the virus.

And prayers for him.

No personal experience.

We’d had one related family with it.

A nephew and his wife - in their early 40s - and two school age kids (all 4 were tested after the nephew started symptoms and all for were positive).

For the kids it was nothing, not even as bad as a minor flu.

For the nephew it was hard for a few days, like a very severe flu, then no more temps, just no energy, some body aches, and some headaches. Since then he has occasional migraine type headaches and some chest aches (I think his lungs are still recovering over the Covid damage). For his wife she had a pretty bad weak but seems to be getting over it. Both nephew and wife have gone back to work.

No one else in the family we know of.

I go to democratic underbelly all the time to watch them freak out like idiots. It’s fun. I’ve noticed over there they are all dying with covid.

I don’t see that much here. Funny, considering.
