Sort of a combo thread here.
My mother had a short outing with a friend on Sat. Her friend called Tues to say she was pos for COVID, in the hospital. Now, my mother is clearly ill and today, her doctor said to get tested tomorrow, and quarantine for 2 weeks.
I and my household family were with her Sun, and I have been with her today to help with the televisit stuff, and tomorrow for the test. Again, we should quarantine and wear masks at home, etc.
We are concerned generally, but especially for my mom. She is 83, has many issues but not really any chronic problem, except alleged COPD - which honestly is probably really because of her MAJOR double scoliosis interfering with her organs.
I know many people including ourselves that had covid. It’s about as eventful as a flu. That’s it for 99.9% of the people. Many have had it and suffered so few symptoms as to be a non-event. Loss of smell is probably one of the more common symptoms.
Take vitamin D and zinc. And I think C as well .
People I know that get it have been extremely tired.
And few people get it and have no symptoms.
Take it seriously and take care of yourself.

good hints

Ivermectin
another good hint
Daughter had it, late 30’s. A week of lethargy and a bit of a sniffle.
See if she has access to monoclonal antibody therapy as soon as you can.
How close is the nearest big hospital?
5 of 8 my immediate family members have had Covid and recovered in a couple of days.
Not pleasant. But, treat the symptoms. Stay hydrated. If fever breaks 100 or difficulty breathing get to ER. Monitor O2 levels to remain above 90% if you can.
Disclaimer. I am not a doctor or expert. I am just someone that has watched family members efforts to overcome the virus.
My prayers for your mom.
I never got tested, but I am pretty sure I went through it last December.... well before Covid was even a thing, and about the time Trump started banning flights. In late January, early Feb, I ended up with deep vein thrombosis... and blood clotting in my lungs.
So watch out for signs of that... for me it was severe pain and swelling in my the calve of my right leg, and I was coughing up blood. I learned later that a good percentage of hospitalized covid patients end up with blood clotting issues.
My 74 year old neighbor had it.
Did NOT take any medicine and prepared to die because the county hospital was “full”. He just woke up after sleeping 48 hours and taking vitamins D, C and Zinc beforehand. NO vaccine or special covid medicine. Just sleep and vitamins..
F’n Chinese m-fers.
I’ve known some people with it. One passed but had other issues
Two had mild symptoms. The other three said it was like a nasty cold
Live had my pneumonia shot. I take vitamin C, zinc, and elderberry. I push fluids and get extra rest.
I’m not a mask wearer I’ve been around those who’ve tested positive. So far I’ve gotten nothing
“The Mamas & Papas swear it was only after a pipe fell on Mama Cass’ head while they were in the Caribbean that she was able to sing the higher notes.”
Interesting. Didn’t know that.
Excellent advice, here, about EARLY treatment, with a Zinc ionophore, is imperative.
HCQ, Ivermectin or Quercetin are all three excellent zinc ionophores.
Prayers up!!
Oh man, I hate that for your Mom.
The only ones I think I know that had it were my daughter and SIL. And, the only symptoms they had...loss of taste and smell but has mostly returned. Ask the doc about Ivermectin. I’m asking my doc next week when I go in for my Medicare Wellness exam next week.
Good luck!
Prayers up for your father’s recovery.
Actually, you can get ivermectin in the form of a apple flavored horse paste at pet stores and online. Be careful with dosage as the dosage is per weight.
Use at your own risk, as I’m not a doctor.
The two confirmed both have loss of taste/smell, congestion, one has a cough.
I had a low grade fever last week around 100 or so. Felt puny....but so far otherwise ok.
We've loaded up on the Airborne Immune stuff. Doubling the doses until all in the clear.
Hope your mom gets well.
Also melatonin 10mg at bedtime - not for sleep, but it adversely affects the virus. Also, washed my Zicam (zinc) down with 4 oz of diet tonic water (every 3 hours during waking hours) as proxy for HCL.
My symptoms were muted . . .mild headache one day and a crappy rundown cold feeling, but I never had the classic fatigue. I also used cough medicine with an expectorant and Mucinex to make sure I could cough up what was in my lungs.
Never had a fever. Never lost my taste. My wife’s symptoms were a little worse than mine, but she started on the OTC meds later and was not as regular about taking them.
Miriam Weaver aka ‘Mockarena’, from “Chicks On The Right”, has been dealing with it. Maybe some stuff there might be of interest.

My entire family up in Georgia tested positive right before thanksgiving.
I went up for the holiday anyway (first time in 6 years). We all sat around the table and had a great time. No one, including me, wore a mask.
Now, at 67, I should really be vulnerable, however, I got back to Jacksonville and exhibited zero, as in none, nada symptoms, and no one I came in contact with, after I got back, got sick so I’m not asymptomatic.
I’m glad I went and would do it again in a heartbeat.
