Since becoming the head of the Catholic Church in 2013, Pope Francis has not shied away from the political domain.
On Sunday, the religious leader used the COVID-19 pandemic to renew his criticisms of free-market capitalism.
In a video message he sent to the International Conference of judges members of the Committee for Social Rights in Africa and America, Pope Francis said that the right to private property is “a secondary natural right derived from that which everyone has”, which in turn arises from the “universal destiny of created goods” and affirmed that “the Christian tradition never recognized as absolute and the right to private property untouchable “.
From his lavish Vatican surroundings, the pope describes property ownership as something secondary and even tawdry, yet even in doing so he reinforces the primacy of property. “To care for the world in which we live means to care for ourselves,” Francis wrote. “Yet we need to think of ourselves more and more as a single family dwelling in a common home.” Note the reference to a person’s home. One need not own a house to have a home, but ownership is the linchpin of our other freedoms—and the best assurance that we can provide for our families and help others.

As Pope Francis correctly noted, some people will use their resources to exploit others. But he conveniently forgets that injustices have existed throughout history. As the property-rights-based market economy has expanded, grueling poverty has receded worldwide. The population living in extreme poverty has dropped precipitously in tandem with the growth of the economic “dogmas” that the pope decries. Perhaps there’s a connection.
Sorry, but property rights are not secondary. As an attorney who defended property owners from government takings liked to say, “Property rights are human rights.” You can’t have one without the other.
This Pope is the last Pope and the charter bus for evil
Christ said, go and sell all that you OWN, and follow me...

Important thread and good first reply.
Well….there you have it! The first thing Communists disallow is the idea of ‘private property’.
• “You don’t own that”
• “You didn’t earn that.”
• “You can’t have that because no one else has that.” (never mind that you half killed yourself to afford it)
So saith his ASSHOLINESS, Pope Francis the TURD.
This Clown is deranged and dangerous. Waiting for this NUT to open Vatican City to house 200,000 homeless at the expense of the Church.
“If a man doesn’t own a sword, he should sell his garment to buy one” only makes sense if one owns one’s garments, i.e. if they are personal property.
Thou shalt not steal.
Really pushing that Global Reset — you will own nothing, and you will be happy. Or else.
Without private property, the do-not-steal Commandment has no meaning.
“So saith his ASSHOLINESS, Pope Francis the TURD.”
My dad always said he believed the anti-Christ would come out of Rome, i.e. a pope going bad.
So he never got around to reading the parable of the talents, clearly.
Private ownership is as old as Exodus. And there is the owner who gives his three hired help different amounts to work his property while he is gone. This Pope has never shed the carapace of Liberation Theology.
Gonna have to find a way to end mans ambitions. I just can’t see the masses happy with mediocrity.
Choose Greatness
Thou shall not covet...
Your dad is biblically correct. 2 Thessalonians 2
Nailed it!
Relax, Bergoglio is NOT the Pope. From Leo XIII to the current Pope Benedict XVI they all condemned socialism, it is a hallmark of the papacy. This joker who is posing as the Pope, doesn’t get to override the Commandments against theft and coveting your neighbor’s goods, which, btw, an actual Pope can’t even do.
Well I guess we know how this clown feels about the global big reset coming in 2021.
Well, it’s a darn good thing that “separation of church and state” is law of the land in the U.S.A. - ain’t that right democrats?
You’re right; those Popes who dealt with the rise of socialism/communism saw it as theft of workers’ wages and an infringement on their right to their “property”.
Red Franky is a joke, but I’m glad he came to power when the pews were already empty - he has no audience within the Church (except the ageing leftist “choir”), and the Church has little credibility outside its own walls. Still, I expect his successor to canonize him quickly.
17 Nov: Reclaim The Net: World Economic Forum deletes tweet after backlash against its proposed dystopia
By Didi Rankovic
Power centers pushing a globalist agenda have a plan called “The Great Reset” that critics fear would use the coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainty and fear around it as an opportunity to reshape the world “in their own image.”
But those behind the idea needed to do a little “reset” themselves and delete a video produced several years ago, after messages from it, like, “You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy,” started trending on Twitter, resulting in a backlash...
The idea came out of the annual gathering in Davos, Switzerland, organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF). It’s apparently been around for a while, but to its authors the global crisis currently taking place might look like a good time to promote it to policy-makers, but also reinvent and defend globalism, which has been shaken by the pandemic.
Back in 2016, WEF published the video on this subject, and stills from it shared on Twitter show one of the slogans, that reads, “You’ll own nothing. And you’ll be happy.”...
