Private ownership is as old as Exodus. And there is the owner who gives his three hired help different amounts to work his property while he is gone. This Pope has never shed the carapace of Liberation Theology.
The “talents” are not really money, of course. The parable is of Jesus’ chosen teachers. Jesus was using the talents for his purposes.
There is a funny meme going around of someone saying to Jesus, “You mean we give our money to the Romans, and they distribute it to those who need it more, right?”
