A Nebraska bar owner that killed a rioter who was attacking him and his business has committed suicide, a friend of Jake Gardner has confirmed to The Gateway Pundit. The bar owner, Jake Gardner, was indicted by a grand jury on counts of manslaughter, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, attempted first-degree assault and making terrorist threats after intense political pressure was placed on the city. The district attorney had originally ruled it was self defense.
On May 30, the 38-year-old confronted a group of rioters outside one of the bars he owns in Omaha and was knocked to the ground.
From there, he fired two warning shots and tried to get to his feet, prosecutors said. As he did, Gardner got into a fight with one man, James Scurlock, 22. The two scuffled before Gardner fired a shot that killed him, Yahoo News reports.
Douglas County District Court Judge Shelly Stratman then appointed a special council, Fredrick Franklin, an assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorneys Office in Omaha, to handle the case, though they said they expected the same outcome.
Instead, Franklin bowed to pressure and dug up evidence and came up with charges.
The manslaughter charge, he said, is related to Scurlocks death; the attempted assault charge resulted from the second warning shot Gardner fired; the charge of making terrorist threats is linked to a verbal confrontation that Gardner had with Scurlock, Franklin continued, Yahoo reports.
On Friday, a judge signed off on an arrest warrant for Gardner.

The left is criminalizing self defense. It’s as blatant an attack on freedom as is the ongoing attack on the 2nd Amendment.
Wow that’s a damn shame.
Agreed.
Too bad that some people are starting to think that to be charged with "racism" is truly a fate worse than death.
The democrat controlled judicial system is encouraging marxist violence against citizens. Its a clear message that rioters will not be held accountable, and resistance to rioters is futile.
That’s right, he likely knew trying to defend himself against the political attack from the local government machine would leave them penniless, destroy his businesses, his reputation...Everything.
Watching good people get totally destroyed for defending themselves against rioters and anarchist is very alarming to put in mildly.
I think we’re supposed to give the blacks all our stuff - houses, businesses, cars, anything they want and bow down and back out of their site so they won’t have to see our disgusting inferior white selves.
Lets start with the Omaha local politicians - they need to appease the mob - personally.
The other side had already convicted him and were happily putting out thank you’s for his indictment...
He doesn’t need a defense fund now.
Did that human filth - George Soros put one of his thug prosecutors in office in Omaha? The ones that let criminals go and punish innocent citizens?
Maybe he didn't want to be torn apart by America's leftist media and attacked on an international level.
The Asst Federal Prosecutor leading the Grand Jury:
Veteran federal prosecutor to lead grand jury probe into James Scurlock’s death
Franklin, a Chicago native, is a 1986 graduate of the Creighton University School of Law who has served as an attorney since that time.
Franklin will lead the presentation of evidence and the law to the grand jurors. The grand jurors then will deliberate outside of his presence to decide whether to bring charges against Gardner.
Franklin has been an assistant U.S. attorney in Nebraska federal courts for 22 years and has served as the president of the Midlands Bar Association, an organization of black attorneys.
The appointment of a special prosecutor became necessary when Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine petitioned for the process. Kleine initially said on June 1 that he would not bring charges and did not think it necessary to have a grand jury review the case.
So now Jake Gardner is dead.
here may be a reason:
“Kleine has questioned why Gardner didnt just stay behind his bouncer after the windows of his bar were broken out. But based on the video of the struggle, he said, he determined that Gardner fired in self-defense.”
“The owner of the building has since evicted Gardner. No date has been set for the grand jury investigation.”
“John Friend, clerk of the Douglas County District Court, said the grand jury likely will not convene for a couple of months, in part because of concerns about the coronavirus outbreak”
—
He was forced to defend himself against a Federal Prosecutor and he was evicted from his place of business and his livelihood was destroyed. He knew the intent of the grand jury was to crush him financially and prosecute him in a hostile environment. He was facing jail time after a long struggle. So he killed himself. What a horrible end.
This #ComDem_Insanity MUST END!
And they would probably be right.
Democrats would kill all of us if they had the power.
When these charges are brought against a person acting out of self-defense in Omaha, Nebraska, we have truly entered a state of mob rule. Unbelievable.
They're literally criminalizing self defense in favor of Democrat supported anarchist and terror organizations.
If BLM and the rest of the left gets their way, all blacks will be let out of jail, no matter what crimes they committed.
As is BLM. Strings were pulled somewhere.
The message being sent is that if you’re going to be charged for defending yourself against thugs, you may as well make it worth your while and take out bunch of them and/or the corrupt officials supporting the thugs.
What the left is doing is turning regular people against the police and the legal establishment. After the charges against this guy and Kyle Rittenhouse, how many are going to think again about going to the police after acting in self defense as opposed to keeping quite and slipping away unseen if they can?
Temporary problem.
7-10 years of hard time temporary.
