You are definitely in my thoughts, Auntie! I pray that since you posted this, you have gotten some help from the authorities in charge and have heard from your insurance company. I also pray that all your friends have survived this dreadful fire.
Like every other state we are controlled by the big cities that always seem to grow into liberal cesspools. Once they control the state their liberalism starts migrating to other states to infect. Like California has infected Oregon, both states were strong Republican in my lifetime but never again without CW II, then only if they lose.

Florida has had a serious wildfire problem in the past, too, and we continue to experience them on a regular basis in the Everglades affecting the southeastern and southwestern sections of the state. Even now there are several problem spots though not anywhere near the extent as California, Oregon and Washington. I remember a particularly bad season in the 90's because all the attractions gave away free admissions for months to all the Florida firefighters and their families in appreciation for them all pitching in to fight the fires raging across the northern and middle parts of the state. To be honest though, I'd take hurricanes over wild fires any day!

I was stationed outside Chicago on a Nike base in 57. I often drove a 2.5 ton with missiles in tow down outer drive. Picked up lead dimes and quarters there couldn't imagine anyone bothering with such a pittance, because I was making so much at $85.80 or so a month, before the First Sgt had his hand out at the end of the pay line for his favorite charities.

The cat or dog can go to a shelter or else someone is looking at dentures and I have a shelter for me and my cat/dog.
You are all wonderful. I am safe and being taken care of by a dear friend. I have laryngitis from the smoke of a week. I wish you could see the pictures. I’m in need of time right now more than anything and I’ve never been so busy. I’ve given lots of thought to your generous offers, and please share with all the others. Most of my loss was because I was ready for anything but this. This area has never had a fire. I moved out of that stress years ago because I was too old. But I failed to increase my insurance after years of remodeling. No ones’ fault but mine.
But being the only person to warn a neighborhood, cost me all I’ll ever have. I would love to have your generous offerings put in a fund if one of you can set that up. I just can’t right now. Typing is a torture.

It’s absolutely unbelievable. We are spread all over the state from the Medford AREA and NO other county will even consider talking to us...ONLY residents of their county.

I didn’t know we had a Freeper who suffered the loss of her home in the Alameda, so close to us.
No one got a warning signal. I have friends in Eagle Point and CJ, the county didn’t send out the warning signal.
I’m sorry for your loss, AuntB. I can’t afford to help you, but the church I go to, Edgewater, is helping people.

Many of you are offering clothes and goods. I won’t be able to transport clothes to anyone. I’m 3 hours away from home, the only place I could find to sleep and on call trying to find a way to get to salvage anything if and when I can hire someone to help me.
I’m down to 94 lbs. I finally made it to a goodwill..they wouldn’t even give me a discount! This is impossible. NO Help for us! THey gave the Hawthorne park to BLACK LIVES Matters (all from out of town!) protesting and camping there...refugees from the fire can’t even stay in our park!! They are bringing food and services to BLM!!!!!! It;s insane.
