Sasse: ‘Lead Time’ We Had on Virus ‘Didn’t Translate Into Enough Action’
Breitbart - trending ^ | 9-9-2020 | Ian Hanchett

On Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Radio’s “Guy Benson Show,” Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) reacted to audio of President Donald Trump saying he played down the severity of coronavirus by stating that America “had some lead time on the virus, but that time didn’t translate into enough action.” And that the White House should have acted “like a team on a mission, trying to tackle a real problem, not trying to manage short-term media.”

Sasse said, “COVID isn’t a political problem, and it isn’t a public relations problem. It’s a public health crisis, that has also created an economic crisis, and the economic crisis is creating marital and public health crises, and tens of thousands of Americans have died from the virus, tens of millions of Americans are out of work because of the lockdown that flowed from the virus and from some government mistakes in response to the virus. It’s deadly serious stuff. And from the very beginning, I’ve been pushing that we needed a much more aggressive testing regime. Americans had some lead time on the virus, but that time didn’t translate into enough action. ....

The corny-virus is just another flu bug. The common cold gives a false positive reading on corny-virus tests. This hullabaloo over the corny-virus is just one facet of the dems’ attempt to bring down our republic.

Foolishness is not unique to the Democrats. They just have more of it and at a deeperlevel.

Sasse is one of the ones they were saying was going to run against Trump in 2016. I think he toyed with it, but in the end he chickened out.

These guys don’t care about principles, they just want to get in line on the gravy train if Biden wins.

Ole Ben forgets that it was a manufactured democrat/RINO *POLITICAL* crisis which prevented effective response as soon as the covid issue became known. Dumbazz!

Sasse has been unwaveringly pro-life, a position at odds with M. Romney.

NE conservatives have no choice in the senatorial race on November 3. They will have to hold their noses and vote for Sasse. Senate seats are too precious to squander, and Sasse has voted for the Trump-nominated judges.

I said they inflated the severity of the virus so as to be able to blame Trump. Case closed.

Sasse was the toast of National Review “conservatives.” He’s an academic ass-weasel. Trump ought to replay Karl Rove’s segment on Hannity last night laying out all of Biden’s statements and the statements of his health experts. Very damning. They were accusing Trump of OVER-reacting back in February and March.

Is Sasse a French name? Because he sure sounds like a cheese-eating surrender monkey bureaucrat.

...”Now that’s rich: A do-nothing GOP Senator lecturing about
“what needs to be done.”

Typical, isn’t it. Arm chair coaches. Reminds me of my husband, watching the Miss America contest on TV years ago when beauty after beauty came across the stage while he, in his pajamas, with the beginnings of a little pot belly, was griping for them to bring out the next beauty because the current one wasn’t pretty enough to suit him. Arm chair judgments are nearly always worthless and in the case of Sasse tell us a lot about the character of such people. My husband was mostly having fun but Sasse is playing to the band he wants to be a part of.

Trump Fires Back!

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Bob Woodward had my quotes for many months. If he thought they were so bad or dangerous, why didn’t he immediately report them in an effort to save lives? Didn’t he have an obligation to do so? No, because he knew they were good and proper answers. Calm, no panic!

Ironic considering the Senate was briefed on COVID by CDC and Fauci on Jan 24th and they all came away feeling confident that all was being handled well and as it should. Even Dem Murphy came out and said the same thing after the briefing.

I saw Karl Rove, too, last night. First time I think that Hannity kept his yap shut and let Karl talk and get all his points out. It was an excellent summary of everything.
