Very interesting case worthy of FReeper dialogue
This is a video of a uniformed Federal Officer describing her encounter with racial profiling.

I want that 16 minutes back.
I spent 26 years as a black state policeman working in a big city. What she says may or may not be true. I would like to hear the other side of this very subjective story.
Her tale includes a plethora of assumptions and a possible imbibed narrative that is prevalent these days. I am NOT saying her account is not true and accurate, but something about it just seems too pat.
I'd like to hear the other side of the stop.
Agree. This video is a waste. She just wants to play victim and get attention.
Her tale includes a plethora of assumptions...”
Most racisim is assumed, imagined. A Black guy, in an oped circa 1990, described all of the racisim he had suffered in his life. Eight out of ten I had experienced as a white guy among whites. Most of his issues were people reacting to his being male NOT being Black.
Thank you for your service, both in the military and as a state police officer!
So you are in the deep south, in the middle of summer, driving with your windows down. Sorry, but that screams trying to dissipate the smell of weed. If the guys writing the ticket are looking for drugs, it certainly raises the red flag. Sorry but her comments show she certainly has an attitude......either give me a ticket or not......yeah, you are getting a ticket or two and we get closer to closing the budget. Pretty clear she loves to share just how seasoned she is within law enforcement. She certainly appears to be less than stable for a LEO.
The video is strange, it looks like she is driving but she is also in the right hand side of the car.
I agree. I hope to get the body cam version or at least a copy of the IA report on this case. Does anyone know if the would fall under FOiA given the viral spread of the victim version ?
I would actually like to see the body cam version of this stop. The fact that this video was recorded by the self proclaimed and alleged victim of racial profiling. Recorded in uniform indicates that she INTENDED to make this video on behalf of the federal government as a supervisor did I see Lieutenant bars on her shoulders ?
34,740 views of this version. Who knows how many other versions there are out there.
Then I’m not missing anything by not watching that....besides if you’ve seen just a few they all sound the same.
This is the first 16 min victim impact statement recorded by a Federal Law Enforcement Officer in uniform Worth 16mins to get her half of the story. Makes me want to read the report from the other side or the IA report if it is subject to FOIA
If she makes a big enough stink about 2 tickets, we may get to see bodycam footage......if there is any.
If you watched the entire 16 min statement and concluded that this is about complaining about 2 tickets you clearly missed the entire point. It is about profiling in general. A practice that I personally believe IS an acceptable police practice. In this case the Federal Law Enforcement IN UNIFORM painted an emotional picture of the incident and from the beginning she profoundly stated that she QUOTE knew she was going to get pulled over because of her vehicle description and skin color UNQUOTE
I found that interesting from the outset, however I am glad that I did not tune out rest of the rant. There is tremendous value in having this conversation with people whenever the topic is discussed intelligently the outcome is predictable. Let me rephrase that whenever the topic is discussed between two individuals seeking to find common ground the outcome is healthy and predictable.
Bottom line, as this case study continues I predict that if and when we get the other side of this story and hear from the officer who initiated the traffic stop then and only then will there be an open and transparent discussion on the practice of profiling when it comes to initiating a traffic stop because your gut tells you to do so. I have no issue with pulling over a car on a gut shot that the driver is likely to have warrants, suspended drivers license etc. Obviously you need to observe a traffic violation to initiate the stop. Following to close, tag light out, etc etc are common ones. In most cases if your gut was wrong the stop can be over and done with in 1-2 mins and a warning can be issued for following too close and a friendly reminder to get the tag light bulb replaced.
She IS driving. Her camera is Clearly in MIRROR mode badge on LEFT and name is reversed.
