Noem/Grenell 2024: A Real Trump Conservative’s Dream Ticket
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Posted on 08/27/2020 5:31:13 AM PDT by EyesOfTX

Turns out the Republicans are really good at this. – Conducting a virtual convention, that is. Not that that’s any surprise, given that the Party has President Donald Trump as its leader.

Last night’s proceedings were pretty amazing, frankly. From Kayleigh McEnany’s moving testimony about her mastectomy surgery, to Jack Brewer’s detailing the brutish treatment he has received for supporting the President, to 24 year-old congressional candidate and paraplegic Madison Cawthorne’s standing to recite the pledge of allegiance, to Sister Deirdre “Dede” Byrne calling President Trump the most pro-life president in U.S. history and truthfully referring to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as Catholics in name only, the speeches were moving, honest and pointed. Real statements by real people, not the lame, scripted taunts from the Hollywood clowns the Democrats put before the American people.

One speech that really stood out was South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who has quickly become not “a” rising star within the GOP, but “the” rising star. The highlight of Gov. Noem’s speech was this honest description of the chaos that the Democrat Party is sponsoring in the major cities it runs:

Partial Transcript:

Now at times, our country has struggled to live up to our founding principles. Another great American, Abraham Lincoln, knew that struggle better than anybody.

When he was just 28 years old, Honest Abe saw wild and furious passions, “worse than savage mobs,” he said, taking the place of reasoned judgment. He was alarmed by the increasing disregard for the rule of law throughout the country.

He was concerned for the people that had seen their property destroyed, their families attacked, and their lives threatened or even taken away. These good people were becoming tired of, and disgusted with, a government that offered them no protection.

Sound familiar?

It took 244 years to build this great nation — flaws and all — but we stand to lose it in a tiny fraction of that time if we continue down the path taken by the Democrats and their radical supporters. From Seattle and Portland to Washington and New York, Democrat-run cities across this country are being overrun by violent mobs. The violence is rampant. There’s looting, chaos, destruction and murder. People that can afford to flee have fled. But the people that can’t — good, hard-working Americans — are left to fend for themselves.

[End]

That is undeniably what the Democrat support groups Antifa and BLM have done to cities like New York, Minneapolis, Chicago, Portland and Seattle this summer, all while uncaring Democrat mayors have hindered their police departments from effectively dealing with the issue. In fact, the leftists at MSNBC were so triggered by Noem’s honest detailing of what their Democrat masters are doing to these big cities that they had propagandist Rachel Maddow cut in while Noem was speaking and bring in a Democrat mayor to refute her claim.

Which mayor did Maddow bring in? Why, Seattle’s communist Mayor Jenny Durkan, of course. Yes, friends, the very same Jenny Durkan whose gross misconduct in office has allowed riots to rip the city’s downtown area apart, riots that are still taking place this week. The same Jenny Durkan who allowed the Antifa/BLM Marxists to take over a six square block area called Capitol Hill and create what they called the CHAZ/CHOP area. The same Jenny Durkan who only relented and allowed her police to clean that area out after several murders were committed there.

You just cannot make this stuff up, folks. MSNBC is literally nothing more than a theater of the absurd.

The other speech that really stood out to me was that of a real American hero for his work as Acting Director of National Intelligence, Ric Grenell. Grenell laid out the Trump Doctrine of America First perfectly, in terms anyone can understand, and pointedly contrasted that doctrine with the destructive globalism institutionalized by the four presidents who came before him, and to which Biden/Harris would return.

Partial Transcript:

During the presidential primary debates four years ago, one outsider stood alone and said in public what most Americans say only in private. It was fourteen years after the start of the war in Afghanistan. And twelve years after the invasion of Iraq, wars where thousands of American troops had died and trillions in taxpayer dollars had been spent.

And yet no candidate could bring themselves to admit that something had gone badly wrong with American foreign policy. That the American voter, the American soldier and the American taxpayer had all been let down. Except for one: Donald Trump.

He called America’s endless wars for what they were: A disaster. The media was shocked, because Donald Trump was running as a Republican. And yet he said out loud what we all knew. That American foreign policy was failing to make Americans safer.

After the end of the Cold War, Democrats and Republicans in Washington bought into the illusion that the whole world would start to resemble America. And so they started to pursue an unlimited globalization.

They welcomed China into the World Trade Organization. They engaged in nation building in Afghanistan, and tried to export democracy to Iraq. They signed a peculiar deal with Iran, and a global climate agreement in Paris. But they weren’t grounded in the interests of the average American.

So for decades, while Washington politicians built a global system, American wages stagnate and our great cities and industries were hollowed out. Entire communities were devastated, and our manufacturing plants were shipped off to China. That’s what happened when Washington stopped being the capital of the United States and started being the capital of the world.

As US ambassador to Germany I had a front row seat to Donald Trump’s America first foreign policy. I wish every American could see how president firmly negotiates on their behalf. I watched president Trump charm the chancellor of Germany while insisting that Germany pay its NATO obligations.

I was proud to witness president say to foreign leaders, “I don’t blame you for wanting America to pay for your security – I actually respect you for out-negotiating the presidents before me. But it stops with me. I won’t let the American taxpayer be taken advantage of.”

Donald Trump’s administration has always made clear that our priority is the American people’s security. That’s the job of all leaders, to put their people first. And we’ve seen how this strategy has succeeded.

In four short years Donald Trump has led even some Washington Democrats to agree about the Chinese threat. On trade deals that benefit America first, on alliances that share responsibility.

In four years Donald Trump didn’t start any new wars. He brought troops home; he rebuilt the military; he signed peace deals that make Americans safer. The Washington elites want you to think this kind of foreign policy is immoral, and so they call it nationalist. That tells you all you need to know.

[End]

Greatness.

Vice President Mike Pence closed the evening out with just an outstanding speech of his own, probably the best speech I’ve seen him deliver. Anyone who thinks he will not be a formidable candidate for the GOP’s 2024 nomination is kidding themselves.

Pence is in fact being touted by the DC establishment as a part of a ticket in which former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley would run as the vice presidential candidate. That would be a strong ticket, but let’s be honest: The fact that the DC establishment is pushing such a ticket should give us all pause.

If you want a ticket in 2024 made up of real conservative leaders who would continue to put America first, well, we saw that potential ticket last night: Noem/Grenell 2024.

That is all.

I definitely want to see Noem on the ticket — maybe at the top of a ticket. The way she managed her state during Covid was great. She respected the citizens’ ability to make responsible decisions, didn’t shut it down, and the state did well.

I think Pence might’ve been great years ago, before he got entrenched in the DC scene. I WANT to trust him, but I have a hinky feeling about him as a swampy.

If you say so. I wont attend a church led by a woman lead pastor either. You can take any complaints about my position up with Him.

“I wont attend a church led by a woman lead pastor either.”

Neither would we. It’s specifically prohibited in the Bible. So is homosexuality. I love what Grenell did in his last acting position, but prefer that he not lead the country.

I notice that you were called a “bigot” up-thread. If you stick to Scripture, you can’t go wrong and you’re definitely not a bigot.

I am not sure if that bigot comment was serious or sarc. Makes no difference either way to me. I would let a comment like that roll off my back without a second thought.

Too bad his DNI role was short-lived. Hopefully, he’ll remain healthy.
