I walked five relatives through the process. Most close we’re an Aunt that I was conservator for, my mom for five years, and my MIL who lived with us for 25 years. I’ve seen this up close and personal in a way most people don’t. (I know there are folks here who have shared the experience.)
His muttering, malapropisms, his deflections, and the way he “scrunches” up his face when frustrated, are all tell-tale signs. You know he is not eating well, and he is crapping himself. Look for it in his clothes and suits.
Nominating him would be malfeasance, electing him, dangerous.
But Pants Suit isn’t much better.
I think someone like Newsome could step up as the younger generation candidate—drafted a cycle early. Or Cuomo. Or, they let Bernie have his way in a “punt.”
I think it may be a staring contest between the Dems and Durham.

Physically and mentally Bernie ain’t Joe. Marxist politics aside he is still sharp and his exaggerated Brooklyn accent will be a formidable debate foe. Trump will need to beat him totally on the merits. And Bernie will have moderators and instant analyzers totally on his side.

My mom had her masters. She ran a couple of local boards.
She declined pretty quickly. As much as you try, everyone’s brain is different. She has the best meds and care. In the end, it didn’t matter.

Think of your own families...from my experience with parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles the target date is about 80 +/-...then it is a slippery slope...
