By force-feeding its viewers an unwanted diet of systemic racism and social justice, ESPN has thinned its viewership to an all-time low. The blundering miscalculation sank ESPN's audience this week to the lowest numbers in its 41-year history. Good luck defending this hair-brained strategy to your advertisers, ESPN.
Clay Travis, of Fox Sports Radio and a frequent ESPN "Woke Center" critic, put it all into perspective on his Outkick The Coverage blog.:
"The network, which has become more left wing than MSNBC and CNN combined over the past several weeks, has completely abandoned sports coverage. The result? Viewers, many of whom were willing to watch the channel even during a pandemic disaster with limited sports to consume, have abandoned it in droves. How bad was it? Were talking full-on crisis mode level awfulness."

Watch out with the cartoon network. There was an article here early this morning that said the writers of Sponge Bob are thinking about having him come out as gay. (Not kidding - there really was an article this morning about that)
And this is coming from Clay Travis, who is leftist himself.
I thought Squidward was already gay, (well he admitted he listens to Public Radio, so that’s close enough)
Same here. When there is a WH press conference or Trump speech, I can easily grab a feed off the web. I watch a little Netflix and AmazonPrime here and there and a lot of YouTube videos - you can really go down a rabbit hole on YouTube but at least you are only watching what you want.
I also watch all my video on my laptop or iPad. When I want to watch something with the wife, it's easy enough to project what's on my laptop to the wall-mounted big screen. But no cable, we've been off of that for three years.
Must also add that the past three months have been among the best of my life. I watch ZERO mainstream media, not even Hannity and Tucker (sorry guys) and I read a lot more books and listen to a lot more music. I have no concern whatsoever with this "chinese virus" that is said to be going around either.
Yep, I was flipping through the stations when I heard the ESPN radio guy enthusiastically talk about how all of this is going to transform pro sports and really make a difference.
For the most part, the people in the streets, peaceful or otherwise, don’t strike me as the kind who are going to buy a lot of tickets for pro or even college events. The sports world has a real problem on its hands. Players who want to act, or be, ‘all woke’ and customers who just want a little diversion from the problems of the everyday world.
Oh, it will, just not in the way he wants it to.
They will not go to “pick and choose” unless they are forced to.
The content providers are calling the shots.
The only way to make cable companies go to “pick and choose” is to cut your cable tv and tell them you will be back when they offer “pick and choose”.
We are more powerful than the content providers but only if we fight with our dollars.
Max Kellerman was probably the first to take a knee to Black Lives Matter. Max and Mike Greenberg are the two most annoying persons on ESPN, and there's a long line that stretches around the corner vying for #3.
It appears to me that one can't say anything critical of a black QB on ESPN...white QBs are fair game, of course.
Cartoon of the Year!!! lol
Just stop with the cable TV. Say no thanks and cancel your service. Over three years without TV here and it is one of the best decisions we’ve made.
Why Civ 5, and not Civ 6? The modding community has produced thousands of mods to the program, including Generals and Admirals that are civilization specific. It kicks azz when I see one of those great men enter the game. It's also served as a history refresher when I see generals I don't recognize from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Civ 6 changed the dynamics of the game, which turned me off.
My TV viewing, as a result is down at least 90%. I turned off Fox News a few years back, haven't missed it a bit. And now I see how the current crop of Fox hosts are trying to outdo each other, showing us how woke they are.
I was talking earlier about the YouTube "rabbit hole" in which you watch one video and then another and then another and before you know it, two hours have gone by.
So I was watching a YouTube video on how to use the paddle shifters in my new Subaru yesterday afternoon and before I knew it, probably because I had some chicken thighs defrosted and ready to cook for dinner, I was watching videos on how to make perfect blackened chicken using a cast iron pan. I spent over an hour watching people blacken chicken thighs and when I finally got around to cooking it, my wife said it was the best chicken dinner she ever had in her life.
Now she expects me to cook dinner again tonight. It's going to be fish this time - much easier. Just 20 minutes at 350 with olive oil, garlic, cayenne pepper and lemon juice.
When it comes to cooking, I swear by my Traeger grill. It's ready to cook in 5 minutes, and thick steaks are a perfect medium rare in 20 minutes (10 minutes each side). Same for chicken breasts.
To be honest, I think it’s good to depict people of every and all backgrounds in commercials. What’s the big deal? You know how it is entering a room full of strangers, the more people like you the easier it is to do, right? Well....when kids see people who look like them on TV it will be that much easier to be like them when they grow up. I get your point, it’s a bit annoying getting force fed a political message, but whatever. It’s just no big deal to me.
