The core of leftism is the believe that there are a class of superior people. Smarter than everyone else, and of course it's them. So naturally they believe three things: (1) the world would be better off if they had total power (2) Thos who actively oppose them are inherently bad because they stand in the way of progress towards totalitarian utopia so they must be crushed and (3) ordinary people don't matter at all, they only make good cogs in the machinery and cannon fire.
