Coronavirus: A Dangerous Geo-Political Blame Game Erupts
Peak Prosperity Youtube Channel ^ | 1 April, 2020 | Chris Martenson

Posted on 04/01/2020 7:45:34 PM PDT by amorphous

US authorities are now firing an opening salvo at China, claiming that the county misinformed the rest of the world about the severity of covid-19. And that better information would have spurred other nations to take the threat more seriously.

That would perhaps make sense if it weren't such a crock of baloney.

Anyone paying attention (like we here at PeakProsperity.com) could see sufficient signs by late January that the virus was extremely contagious, deadly, and had overwhelmed China's attempts to contain it. And yet US, and CDC officials continued to downplay its risks into early March.

And, c'mon. Who believes official Chinese reports about *anything*, let alone something as potentially disruptive as a brewing pandemic?

After all, we've spent many trillions amassing the largest security state in world history -- you'd think that investment might actually get us some accurate "intelligence". I guess not.

In today's video, Chris explains why this blame game is both farcical and dangerous.

Remember all those warm fuzzies we were sold throughout 2019 about the great benefits of the coming China Trade Deal? Kiss those good-bye.

In a future that will surely put continued globalization into question, slinging blame, especially when there is so much culpability on our own end, will only increase the odds that China morphs from trading partner into global adversary.

The stakes in this blame game are high, and we play it at our peril.

It’s good to see that she’s doing better! I’m sorry for what she has been through and hoping for her quick recovery.

CDC was more worried about fighting Climate Change than Pandemics.

‘Chris explains why this blame game is both farcical and dangerous.’

ah yes, the old ‘who in the world should we blame for our misfortunes?’ game...

well, probably nobody in the world; for nobody in the world created the world, but who did...? hmmm...?

Someone please shut this idiot up.

If he stays in his lane, anaizing data about Convid19, he provides OK info. But when he get political like he does in this video then yes I agree

Someone please shut this idiot up.

The Chinese did lie.

Bump!

Even worse they got the World Health Organization to repeat their lies. I will never believe anything WHO ever says again.

Trump’s China ban bought us time. The CDC/FDA wasted that time by badly mismanaging Covid19 testing. Heads should roll at CDC and FDA over that. Chris Martenson trying to blame the Trump admin for Covid19 is total BS. I used to listen him, now I’m done with him.

“Heads should roll at CDC and FDA over that.”

Indeed. And we need to yank every single American nickel of money from the WHO immediately.

In addition to the Chinese, the WHO amplified those lies with official “scientific” pronouncements. The WHO cannot be trusted, as evidenced by this very pandemic, but while it was considered less than gold standard when the pandemic began, it was (and is) still an “officially trusted” arm of the UN.

The author/speaker is using hindsight to indict the President for trusting the WHO, which is supposed to be a truth source for the world. That they uncritically parroted Chinese propaganda is clear, but to have discounted their noisy utterances prior to solid evidence of their malfeasance would have been a political wound of great magnitude.

“Political” in this sense is not the ongoing DC follies type of garbage - he would credibly (though falsely) be accused of undermining the very organizations that are purportedly protecting us, and the US NIH and CDC would have gone into full revolt, undermining confidence in the President until he couldn’t even reach out past the idiots in the media to the people.

The NIH and CDC still have not addressed the manifest failure of the WHO in this case. I am unsure they ever will, at least officially. Both NIH and CDC are doubtlessly rife with globalism - the very kind that seeded this pandemic in the first place.

We need to know the true nature of the threat, so we can see more caution out there.

That is so true. People have no clue how slowing the progress of the virus.

By my calculations:

Current projected deaths in the US, at current ND/TD ratio for 15 April, = 100,000 dead.

Projected deaths at prior US ND/TD ratio, before current US spike in cases that may be due to spring breakers/repatriation (20k), for 15 April, = 31,112 deaths.

Spring break and repatriation may cost the US over 60,000 lives.

Just one an example of how failure to act in a timely manner has exponential repercussions in just days or weeks.

Second line should read:

People have no clue how slowing the progress of the virus lessons its impact down the road...

Yes, the Chinese lied. They continue to lie today. They will lie tomorrow. They aren’t any different than our Democrats. But even if they hadn’t lied, it would have made no difference whatsoever.

Air travel between major world cities is ubiquitous. Or it was. Literally millions traveled by air from everywhere to everywhere on Earth daily. A virus this contagious was never going to be shut down in time because air travel was far too important to business worldwide - let alone travel for pleasure. It wasn’t ever going to be shut down in time.

This virus was probably going in China in November - I suspect that in places like New York or Las Vegas or Los Angeles, it was already spreading around in late November or December - well more than a month before people were paying attention. And mass air travel continued throughout the world all during that time.

This was going to go worldwide and get out of control everywhere no matter whether the Chinese lied or not. Their lies are damning to them for many important reasons - and they should be punished until their system changes in the aftermath. But their lies changed nothing about the virility or the spread of this particular virus.
