Something is not right. Too many things do not add up.
Both Covid-19 and the influenza virus are contagious viruses that cause respiratory illness. The flu in America, so far this season, according to the CDC, has caused about 46 million illnesses, 550,000 hospitalizations and about 41,000 deaths. And yet, we have almost completely shut down our economy to the point of approaching collapse because of a comparatively small fraction of Covid-19 cases caused by another virus from China. Instead of preaching good nutrition, a healthy immune system, supplementing with extra vitamins A, C, and D, our political establishment is pushing for lock downs, face masks, and pressuring our president into creating fear and panic. Why?

You can only lose what you’re willing to surrender.
And as far as being disarmed... That all depends on what you’re willing to do to keep it. The ONLY one who can disarm you is you.
You either USE it for it’s intended purpose when they come for it, or you surrender it.

The 80,000 figure is for the 2017-2018 season. Last year was 61,000, Won't know this years number for months but they are guessing between 24,000 and 62,000 As of March 21.
It’s clear that the medical care industry if being strained to and, quite possibly, beyond its limits. Why does this not happen with “regular” seasonal flu?

In politics, conspiracies are more common than not. And by the way, conspiracies are a common feature of human nature.
Basically there’s no one alive that’s been through a pandemic, everyone is scared. What is going on is not a conspiracy it’s human nature. That’s it.

Really, wasn’t polio in the 50’s a pandemic? Wasn’t the Asian Flu in the ‘56 and ‘57 a pandemic. Lot’s of Freepers around here were around then, too.
I’d sure rather get this Wuhan stuff than polio, yet we all went about our business when polio was rampant.
I never expected this level of insanity to prevail in this country. Even many in this forum have been panicked to the point of irrational points of view. And they shout down those who try to interject any form of common sense into the discussion.
They do not know how many people die from influenza each year. They estimate it and include deaths from pneumonia. They have no idea. The CDC says it on their website. They also retroactively changed how many supposedly died from “the flu” in previous years.
Let's try out these arguments. It's a lot more widespread than you think, 100 or 1,000 times more. And THEY want to impose totalitarian control and are just panicking you into thinking that way. It's 5D chess played by masters who have even head-faked Trump.
So just shut your eyes so you don't see what't happening because your lying eyes are lying.

He was right, and eventually it passed.
Same here. Millions get it. Hundreds of thousands probably have it bad enough to want to go to the doc. But then with the panic in the air, they all go to the doc.
Using the virus as a control worked in China: It got the anti-communist protesters to go home.
The left is using it here now.
If we do resume normal life after this scare, we need to learn some things from it. This little moment in time has demonstrated how fast and easy the Bill of Rights can be suspended.

Yeah, same point of view here. Major over-exaggeration going on for political purposes. They're burning down the house around themselves because we won't vote them back in to power. Evil doesn't even describe them.
