Virginia Governor Officially Closed All Churches And Made It A Crime Punishable With Jail, But Allowed State-Owned Liquor Stores To Remain Open

Governor Northam is DETERMINED to break America and all of her Constitutional Rights, replacing them with Progressive Democratic Platform principles.

He officially closed Virginia churches and made it a crime punishable by up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine.

Conservative author Charlie Kirk tweeted a few moments ago:

Ralph Northam just officially closed Virginia churches and made it a crime punishable by up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine

This is Anti-American.

A governor can’t punish someone for attending church.

What happened to the First Amendment?

Where is the outrage?

RT! Two days ago when asked about Church services Governor Northam answered:

“Any time that there’s a gathering of more than 10 people, we would certainly discourage that,” Northam said when asked if churches would be able to hold services.

“Faith is very important to individuals, especially during these times. But we’re asking churches to practice the same social distancing,” Northam said. “I have talked to a lot of pastors across the Commonwealth, a lot of faith leaders, who are really being creative and innovative is how they’re communicating with their church members.”

Gov. Northam said that a meeting was scheduled with church leaders to discuss how to they could operate in their communities while practicing social distancing.

After the meeting, most of Virginia’s houses of worship have suspended in-person religious services and activities to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, and many do not expect to be open by Easter, which this year falls on April 12 despite President Trump’s declaration Tuesday that he wanted to see packed churches on Easter.

It seems that alcohol is far more important than the Church.

Governor Northam ordered “non-essential retail businesses” in his state to shut down for a month starting at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday—but expressly exempted the state’s government-owned liquor stores, calling them “essential retail businesses.”

He additionally declared that “all public and private in-person gatherings of 10 or more individuals are prohibited.”

In issuing this order, Northam cited his “authority” under Section 44-146.17 of the Code of Virginia.

This law says in part:

“Executive orders, to include those declaring a state of emergency and directing evacuation, shall have the force and effect of law and the violation thereof shall be punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor in every case where the executive order declares that its violation shall have such force and effect.”

Committing a Class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia, according to Section 18.2-11 of the Code of Virginia carries an “authorized punishment[]” of “confinement in jail for not more than twelve months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both.”

In his executive order, Northam lists the “essential retail businesses” that he is going to allow to remain open during the shutdown he is ordering. These include “liquor stores,” which in Virginia are owned and operated by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority, a government agency.

Northam’s order says: “Essential businesses may remain open during their normal business hours. Such businesses are: … Beer, wine and liquor stores.”

So people in liquor stores can wait in safe distance lines and get their alcohol but Christians can’t do the same and go to the church? Doesn’t anyone recognize the slow, and gradual, removal of each of our “rights”? This is exactly what our founding fathers feared. This is exactly why we have the constitution..the bill of rights.

Here’s a quote from the First Amendment for Governor Northam:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Next he will issue an order confiscating them per eminent domain and order their conversion into warehouses, abortion clinics or raze them as a ‘threat to the community’.

"I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."

Psalm 119:11

They will never confiscate that Bible!

What? It's not a crime punishable by death? Is he slipping?

I’d like to see some creative churches hold their services in liquor stores, Costco parking lots, marijuana club lounges.

See what excuse if any they use to break you up.

Do it!

If the people who contracted Coronavirus in a church were to either shuffle off and die quietly or have other people at the church care for them, then churchgoers could express righteous indignation at such an order.

But because these people would be taxing Caesar's very finite resources in their demand for care, Caesar, like it or not, has a say in the matter.

Separation of church and state. For you, not for me! I’m in charge.

Me thinks this whole fiasco is a power grab; whilst at the same time, it being coordinated to take Trumps accomplishments to the ground.
