The crash of a Ukrainian jetliner that killed 176 people in Iran touched off mourning Wednesday in both Ukraine and Canada — where many of the victims were from or were headed — and raised a host of questions about what went wrong. But U.S. intelligence officials said there was no immediate evidence it was shot down.
This morning Iran refused to turn over the black box from the downed plane.
Iran will not give the black box of the crashed Ukrainian airliner to planemaker Boeing, the head of Tehran’s civil aviation organization was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
Ali Abedzadeh also said it was not clear which country Iran would send the box to so that its data could be analyzed, semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
Now new evidence surfaced.
A local Iranian reportedly discovered a “control segment” of a TOR M1 missile near the Ukrainian plane crash site.

That’s one of those stories that changed wildly from initial reporting to the new and improved correct version that was later settled on.
The initial report was that there was something about the flight path and its actions that suggested that it was going to attempt a kamikaze attack and that’s why it was shot down.
I remember that none of us believed it as the story started to change because there were whispers of some issues with the corpses that left many to believe that no one on that plane was alive when it was shot down and if any of them were then it was and even more righteous conflict due to them being sacrificed that way.
There was a corkscrew that we all had at the time (spritzers were a thing then for women). At parties someone would hold it on its side from the screw and move it side to side causing the top to push out and back and the arms to flop and everyone would laugh. The unspoken joke was “What is this?” “Its half an Iranian swimming to shore!” This was funny in that dark military way because they deserved being splashed for trying to pull something like that.
Im not sure I trust those who oversaw the creation of the lens through which we look back upon that event.
It is proximity fused. This exact ordnance has datalink with the launcher programming fuses in real-time to detonate at optimal position to a target for a maximum efficient kill based on speeds and angles of approach between aircraft and ordnance. It doesn’t kill on impact. The part you see is for guidance and steering, the warhead it the middle of the missile.
If the photo is authentic the mystery solved. That’s a ‘Thor’ SAM.

asumming that video is legit, looks to me like a SAM came streaking in from the right and the 737 blew up when the it converged with the SAM, and then 3 seconds later there was a massive explosion on the ground ...

That would mean proximity detonation, and debris from both missile and plane in same debris field, I would think. The accident narrative seems a little fishy, timing-wise.

This picture could have been taken anywhere at any time. Maybe this is legit but I would be cautious.
I am not claiming that I have any evidence for any of this - it's speculation. But it does cover why anyone would shoot down a civilian airliner that just departed from an international airport on a scheduled flight. Pure stupidity. If it turns out otherwise please accept my apology in advance.

Just holding onto the Black Box is an indication of guilt....probably want to try to gauge how President Trump would take it - probably some idiot knee-jerked with fear (or wanted to take things out of leaderships hands) and nothing officially sanctioned (accident or sabotage from within).
The plane crashed over 2 minutes and probably 5-10 miles AFTER the missile hit, so it is likely the missile parts would be a long way from the debris field UNLESS the nose cone went into the air plane and went along for the ride.
The Plane was traveling South East (back towards the airport) in the video. It was traveling North West (away from the airport) when it would have been hit. After it would have been hit, it turned north and then east (around), on fire. It was already headed South East when the video starts.
Anti government forces in Iran are pushing the missile theory. Unless it was imbedded in the plane, the Missile nose cone should have been MILES south of the debris field.
I believe the missile theory, but more confirmation of this is needed for me to be all in.

Any number of scenarios can probably be created...or disputed...by that scenario. My understanding of radar guided missiles is that they process radar returns generated by their source, and detonate when the return signal from the target shows a Doppler shift that indicates proximity(or is delayed to allow overshooting the target, so that the target flies through the created debris from the explosion. Certainly, some parts of the missile, if there was one, made contact. And, I’ve seen nothing showing how close this nose cone is to the wreckage.
About 50% of the passengers were Canadian.
What the hell does Canada and Iran have going on trade wise and ????, to have that many Canute passengers on board a single plane.
