Back in the day, I was one of the first people to start using Google as a search engine. I liked its clean interface, and simplicity.
Of course, over the years, other people also found this to be the preferential search engine. Unfortunately, Google became big, powerful and yes, evil. They siphon up your personal information with zero regard to fourth amendment protections. They sell the information to the highest bidder, and give it away for free if the person is part of a government agency.
Unfortunately, people like myself VALUE privacy. And that means that I no longer can use Google.
Here is a selection of various search engine alternatives to Google. It is not a complete list. As there are thousands of alternatives. These are some the best ones that I have found.
You might discover, as I have, that they have BETTER and more comprehensive results than Google. You just need to understand that they work differently than Google. So you must query your searches differently
You see, Google only provides results to you that they feel should be presented to you.

duckduckgo for many years here. Google is evil.
Google’s technology is the best, without peer. The problem is Google hired a bunch of non technical libtard/SJW managers with oversight on their products, and I think the trend started or accelerated during the Eric Schmidt/Obama years and continued from there.
Geez! I get a little long-winded at times but nothing like that!
Other search engines, even the bigger ones like Bling and Yahoo, are NOT rigging searches against us - at least as bad. The several times that I’ve tested, I find the others might take 3 letters before suggesting what I’m looking for, while Google makes me keep adding letters.
I’ve built websites and done SEO(Search Engine Optimization) on them to try and get them to show up near the top results for a web search so I’ve spent many hours researching how they work. I was paying fees for paid services to research keywords, scour competitor websites etc. Got a site from 5th page on google to the top of page 2 and that’s all the people could afford but I could have got them on page 1 of the results. Anywho.
There’s only two search engines worth mentioning. Google and Bing.(there are a few smaller specialized search engines - yahoo isn’t a thing anymore, they use google now) The rest use google/bing, maybe tweak them a bit, maybe give you privacy and that’s it. But there’s only google and bing and bing is much smaller as far as database size.
To be effective, the search engine has to have bots that are called web crawlers. They crawl the web reading over every site or at least try to. AN ENORMOUS TASK. You see most websites get regularly updated, especially news so they have to be crawled and indexed regularly to keep the search engine’s database up to date so that you get relevant results.
The algorithms these search engines create also have to deal with people constantly trying to cheat to get their website up to the top of the results.
Here’s the problem. It seems google isn’t just using their algorithm to keep their database clean and your results relevant. They’re tweaking their algorithm so that the results also filter out things they don’t want you to see based on their ideology.
They believe in climate change so they filter out anything that says climate change is BS. If they do show you results, it will be sites that are poorly made, with too many ads and look like BS themselves.
They were/are pro Hillary so we were hard pressed to find anything negative about her. They hate Donald Trump so we were hard pressed to find anything positive about him.
In 2015, I did searches for “Good things Donald Trump has done”. I got 7 pages of negative stories and this was on duckduckgo as I’d been using it since before that. On google.com, one would have to go through 20 pages because duckduckgo was simply shrinking things down that they get from google. Same deal with trying to find something negative on Hillary.
These algorithms are basically trade secrets. That’s why it’s difficult to prove they’re tweaking things based on ideology. They’ve spent a couple of decades developing the algorithms and aren’t about to reveal them. Even if they did, who on the conservative side or at least in fedgov, would even understand it? 99.5% of CURRENT web programmers lean left and search engine algorithm is a tiny, highly specialized portion of that.
Hey, vannrox!
I wonder what the (snicker!) “editorial staff” of the “metallic” man blog is up to?
Oh, looking for alternatives to Google? Say, no one has ever wondered THAT before (*cough* duckduckgo *cough* dogpile *cough*).
But I’m sure your (snicker) “editorial staff” has some ideas. What are they?

Awwwwwwwwwww.........
SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
QuackQuackGo!
I see no option in DuckDuckGo for choosing how many search results per page it will show.
Startpage uses Google as the searcher, but blocks reverse access from outside to your comouter, as well as blocking the search listings to sites with porngraphic titles ot text listing. Startpage protects you. Google has different objectives and does not protect you from invasion.
Google search quality has tanked in the last two years or so witty the new algorithm. The results are often useless and get no better weigh 5 or 6 searches.
They are no longer the best
I do, too...with the Brave browser.
the only thing I can see is an infinite scroll on/off setting.
DogPile.
BUMP
Open DuckDuckGo in a Tab and Type tom and jerry in DDG Search bar press ENTER to start the search, after the Search comes up. Just above the PIC of tom and jerry Go to SETTINGS Drop Down Menu and Turn On the switch for INFINITE SCROLL it will turn BLUE. It's now Set for everything on the Internet to be displayed until You reach the end of the Internet.
And You are done.
Bingo !
I know !!! I’ve worn 3 Layers of skin off My SCROLL Finger !!!
