"Good heavens, miss Takamoto, you're beautiful!"
I thought it was “Sakamoto?”
It was. Got it wrong.

Trout Mask Replica baby!
Theme to Peter Gunn and Paranoimia were good too.
You gotta be here!
Ah, the 80’s. Big hair and 180p music videos.
Who can forget this classic...

A lot more going on, musically, than is generally given credit in that song.
Big hair, Camaros, Motley, VH, Scorps President Reagan....yes the 80s were a blast.....
I dunno, the political divisions back then were as defined as now. But less vindictive. I blame the 60’s commies for that. And their heirs in the universities. College in the 80’s was filled with lefty profs, but you could be conservative and not have hell and death rained down upon you for expressing it.

Don’t forget Steely Dan, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Electric Light Orchestra, Boston, Grand Funk Railroad, Blue Oyster Cult, Nazareth, David Bowie, Meatloaf and many more!
“Nothing matters but the weekend - from a Tuesday point of view.” This is my favorite ‘80s fun song. The Kings just couldn’t make it on MTV.

Cure for depression:
You Make Me Feel Like Dancing by Leo S.
I’m Your Boogie Man by KC and the Sunshine Band
You Should Be Dancing by The Bee Gees
Dance and get the endorphins flowing.
The Who’s Next is from the 70’s. The last song was regarded to be the greatest rock and roll song of all time. At least that is what John Lennon sad.
So, you were five footr six?
Sayer was that short? I did not know that. Actually Im 6 feet tall. And while I still have plenty of hair, I no longer wear it in an Afro.
Dolby was all over Foreigner 4, as well.
PLEASE, let me SLEEP!!
Duane (Dwayne?) Eddy actually played on the Peter Gunn remake. I thought their video for Legs was pretty good, too. There are several visual puns I actually laugh at even now.
Agreed entirely ! Great music decade. Cant forget the funk too !
Exactly.
When people say that 70s music sucked, and then cite Terry Jacks (Seasons in the Sun), Morris Albert (Feelings), Andrew Gold (Oh what a lonely Boy) and Disco in general, I submit:
The 1960s:
Millie Small (My Boy Lollipop), the Archies, the 1910 Fruit Gum Company...
The 1980’s:
Toni Basil (Oh Mickey), Bananarama, Wham!, Boy George (Actually, some his songs were pretty good)
Every decade sucked or was great, depending on what particular music you use to benchmark it by.
Some great country music came out in that time period.
