"Good heavens, miss Takamoto, you're beautiful!"
“Easter mass in burgundy pants and a red plaid sportcoat with white shoes and a belt!”
70’s fashion was the worst.
Insane decade that reinforced and institutionalized the 60’s revolution.
It was fun! Nothing more and nothing less. If I'm looking for "substance" in music I'll turn to the likes of Dylan (*early* Dylan) and Joan Baez (again, her early stuff). If I just want something to sing along with while driving down I-95 I'll turn to "She Blinded Me With Science" or "Come On Eileen".
Was that a line from some movie? How about a little backstory?

Do you know who this guy is?
It's me. In 1979. No actually it's Leo Sayers.
When I need you - Leo Sayer (lyrics) - YouTube
“Ill take mullets and big hair any day over man buns.”
Any man wearing any if these deserved immediate capital punishment.
Mullet will make you nauseous. Man bun makes you actually vomit.
I personally think the 50s was the golden age of rock and roll and other music too.
60s was also good as was some 70s stuff. After that it just got worse and worse with an occasional exception.
"Rock n Roll's been going downhill ever since Buddy Holly died."
Song reference. See post 26. If still confused, take that to wikipedia. It’s kinda a coded reference to those who were young when the song came out.

My business partner in the 80’s was a jazz saxaphonist (and a very good one), who liked “Song X”. Took me a while to appreciate it.
Sun Ra was another.
White Boy rockin’ that ‘fro.
Come on Eileen is a sublime song all around. (I don’t mean the LB band).
Yep, it’s an acquired taste.
Now I might have punched Pat, after listening to “Zero Tolerance For Silence”.....WTF?!?!?!?!
If you liked that try “ long tall glasses”.

Yes, there were a lot of weird clothes in the 70s. Weird people too. The pop culture of the 1970s was adolescent and entitled in my opinion.
You gotta look at it on some different levels. Music is like food. Some of it is a sit down dinnet
I liked 80’s music, lots of fun stuff. Nobody taking themselves too seriously, not much angst (except perhaps Suzanne Vega). Some just plain nutty, like Julie Brown.
I had the good fortune to be able to listen to WHFS 102.3 when it was still on Cordell Ave. in Bethesda.
The 60’s had some good stuff. Yes, the 70’s was a wasteland. In the 80’s I was out of the loop for a while, but listened to ZZ Top and country music.
My 20 something kids love the music from the 80’s.
Pat Benatar is one of them.
