BTW, it's voluntary, pretty much not necessary financially. I've been getting an income stream from my investments and just signed up for Medicare.

Have you applied at any of the local community colleges? They love older teachers. Lots of lifetime experience and seem to have more of a heart for guiding young people, especially those who haven’t known that support at home.
I am 65 and working it keeps me in shape, work at a major grocery chain, I could have gone on Medicare HOWEVER my PPO medical through work is only $7.00 a week that includes dental, vision, prescriptions AND medical the pay sucks HOWEVER the benefits are worth far more than the pay which is $14.00 an hour!!! You only have to work 24 hours a week to maintain benefits AND my hours are VERY FLEXIBLE, it is a GREAT JOB for retired seniors, keeps me busy, socializing with people and keeps me in shape!!!!
Depends on you. I took an early out at 58 and am having the time of my life. I’d never go back to work but I have my own business and can work as hard as I want to, plus the freedom to use my time however I wish. The idea of having a boss and schedule again is not the least appealing but everyone is different. I know people who have gone back to work precisely because they missed that.
I see you live in my liberal state. Hope the ICE facility doesn’t have liberal managers...stay safe.
Still working... Your tolerance for management double talk will be impaired. Be gentle, the incoming workforce must be coddled and your company has to go that pool to keep going.
I did insurance assessments, very part time, for a while. Very easy. Insurance companies contract with managed care companies. Pay was $80-$140 each assessment. 1-2 hours time for actual assessments, plus drive time. (5-50 miles, hence the broad fee range), then another 2hours or so to polish up the assessment paperwork. Company I contracted with was called Dimensions. Out of New Jersey, but of course, they had referrals ALL over the country, so probably have some in your area.
I am 59 and will probably “retire” in 2-3 years.
When I say retire I will scale my job back to a 9 month position, which in all reality is an 8 month gig.
I like what I do, four months off a year is more than enough time to travel, and the job, which I find rewarding, will help me travel well.

Yeah, I was going to say if you can afford to run around and do whatever your heart desired then perhaps all that free time might be enjoyable. I’ll never know, but I suspect even without limitations it wouldn’t be all that great. Now if you had a hobby you really loved then that free time would be absorbed by the hobby. But I’m not really into hobbies either, LOL.

That is an interesting idea. You don’t make much money, but if they have decent benefits, it might be worth it.

Amen to that! There's far too many possibilities than spending your time on another's time schedule. ......I love control of my time!
