The American Civil Liberties Union is asking a judge to block the Trump administration from constructing a border wall with money obtained through his national emergency declaration.
The civil rights group filed the request Thursday in California on behalf of communities along the border and the Sierra Club environmental group. The court papers say President Donald Trump is overstepping his executive powers by diverting funds from the Department of Defense to Homeland Security for a border wall.

In my effort to understand how and why our elected officials refuse to secure the border with Mexico, the only plausible explanation is they must be the benefactors of cartel money. No other reason makes sense to me.
I believe that your understanding of why the border is not secure is the only possible explanation left. James Carville used to say...”follow the money”. Leaving the border open only protects the sex trade, abuse of human beings as cheap labor, and the flow of drugs. The politicians are raking it in while our youth dies from drug overdoses in the greatest assault against America in history.

If the court were honest, it would throw out the suit on the grounds that the ACLU/their clients have no standing. The issue is a political question - courts do not render political opinions. That being said, leftist causes on behalf of “citizens” always seem to find a sympathetic judge who dispenses with stare decisis when convenient.
