I just noticed that Baby Formula is locked up in the supermarkets

It's been a while since I had babies to deal with. However, I was in the super-market today checking out when I saw a locked case of baby formula in the front of the store.
Baby formula. Locked up. Why?
I was thinking maybe somebody out there knows why that is so.

A few years ago, I noticed that the Sam's Club started locking up the Gillette razors I used to buy. I showed up one day and they were in a locked cabinet with a sign saying "please see a sales associate."
Well, I was not going to go around looking for a sales associate to unlock a case for me just so I could buy some overpriced razors. So what I did instead was go online and join one of those "dollar shave" clubs and never looked back. Now every couple months or so, I get razors and shaving cream in the mail. Never bought a razor in a store again. Never bought a Gillette product again either.

For some strange reason baby formula is extremely attractive to thieves who resell it at flea markets, etc.

At Toys R Us (RIP) and other stores in areas there seems to have organized groups . As employees will not obstruct the thief they could race out the door with shopping carts of formula easily resell at bodegas etc.
Powder formula retail high and specially formulated even higher cost.

My guess, too. The grocery chain in my town locks up the whole womens’ cosmetics _aisle_ from something like 9 or 10pm to closing.
