In November 2018, CNBC reported:
Amazon will pay HQ2 employees an average of $150,000
On February 16, explaining why she opposed amazon creating 25,000 new jobs in New York City, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said:
“We need to create dignified jobs in New York City”
and
“We do not have to settle for scraps in the greatest city in the world”
I wonder how high those amazon salaries would have to be in order for Ocasio-Cortez to think they were “dignified” and not “scraps.”
Meanwhile, in December 2018, NPR reported:
When Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez takes office next month, representing New York’s 14th District, she will be a part of the “blue wave” of new Democrats in the House. But the 29-year-old may end up being a part of a different kind of wave, too: a bipartisan effort for members of Congress to pay the interns they employ.
“Time to walk the walk,” she tweeted on Tuesday. “Very few members of Congress actually pay their interns. We will be one of them.” And she pledged more than just a stipend: Her interns will make $15 an hour.
In other words, when it comes to paying wages that are “dignified” and not “scraps,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a hypocrite.
Do as we say not as we do.
AOC - what exactly is a “dignified” job? Oh - a UNION job. “Scraps?” Oh, a non-union job.
AOC - your socialist “mind” has caused you to be delusional and insane. You need either drugs, therapy, or both.
It was an average of $150k, while not the greatest salary, it is a good salary. Some jobs would probably pay in the >$200-300k area and others less than $150k.
What I don’t understand is her wanting “dignified” jobs? What? A bartender?
I guess a technical, marketing, or sales job is not dignified in the mind of the warped AOC. But, I view any job where you earn an honest living and do a good job is a dignified job. But, that’s just me.
Brainless
No doubt in my mind that a slew of people would be happy to move to NYC for a $150K plus golden benefits salary. This privileged child is looking for a face-save, while falling on it.
I very much doubt she would see any problem with that.
If she did actually perceive the contradiction between those two facts, she would I'm sure have three or four reasons why it's not her fault and there's nothing she can do about it right now.
150 is not a good salary? Wow.
Does this jackass even know......pay for her interns is coming from taxpayers with families, struggling to make a living.
God protect us from this one's empty-headed socialism.
To understand AOC math, you have to know how she thinks.
Now a $15 hour a job pays about $600 a week. Everyone knows that $600 is a lot more than $150 don’t they? And she doesn’t know what that ‘k’ at the end of the $150 means - it probably means a job where you have to be a member of the kkk, doesn’t it? So a $150 job where you have to join the Klan is neither dignified, nor does it pay enough.
You have to remember that the girl is as dumb as a sack of rocks.
We need to create dignified jobs in New York City
We do not have to settle for scraps in the greatest city in the world
$75 an hour isn't "dignified" wages?
Cortez can't even do simple arithmetic. And she has an economics degree??
Meanwhile a lot of fellow New Yorkers, possibly including her constituent voters won’t have decent paying jobs.
Way to go BrainDead Cortex.

After Slaughtering 40,000 New Jobs, Progressive NIMBYs Are New York Citys Number One Enemy
The story of Amazons selection of Long Island City for the companys second headquarters stoked the hopes and dreams of many New Yorkers living within the Five Boroughs, with the companys promise to bring up to 40,000 new jobs averaging $100,000 per year to Queens, by 2033. Unfortunately, due to the actions of a few elected Democrats, these hopes and dreams have now been squashed, as Amazon has now pulled out of Long Island City. Despite petitions and basic organizing advocating for the new HQ2, the combined Twitter presence of a rabid horde of regressive leftists led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez generated sufficient outrage for cancellation.
On the surface, the argument was apparently about the $3 billion in subsidies Amazon would have received for relocating up to 40,000 new jobs to the Five boroughs. However, Cortez also celebrated the announcement on Twitter as a call to action against perceived gentrification. In either case, 40,000 jobs bringing in $100,000 per year apiece would have yielded almost $400 million in local and state tax revenue each year, more than equaling any subsidies by 2030, and offering a potent revenue stream for both state and local coffers in the decades beyond.
Unfortunately, it appears the outrage politics that have proliferated since the advent of social media are now on the verge of consuming New York Citys future. Following the cancellation of HQ2, Cortez took to Twitter to celebrate depriving 40,000 New Yorkers of prospective employment. Cortez was joined half-heartedly by Mayor Bill De Blasio and City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, both of whom deemed Amazon unfit to compete in New York City due to the breakdown in negotiations.

Cortez the (Job) Killer.
I could do very well on 150k.
What is the frame of reference of someone, to think that $150,000 is a meager salary? She’s something else isn’t she?
She is so clueless that it is scary — to think of her in a government decision-making position.
Bimbo Cortez is nothing but a BS grinder top clown of the party and the list is long.
