Could El Chapos seized drug money be used to build the border wall?
Thats one of the questions many are asking on Tuesday following news of the former drug kingpin being found guilty on all counts.
Mexicos most notorious drug kingpin, Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, will spend the rest of his life in prison after a jury found him guilty on all 10 counts following a three month trial.
According to Breitbart, the United States has seized $14 billion from the former drug lord, which gave Sen. Ted Cruz a brilliant idea.
The Texas Republican introduced the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act in April 2017, which calls for the use of the $14 billion seized from the cartel drug lord to be used to pay for the wall.
Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border, Cruz said in a statement.

The US government does not know where ANY of El Chapo’s money is.
Nothing was seized. I have read we can’t find one damn cent.
Given the destruction that the cartels have inflicted on Mexico, I think that Mexico has paid a price even if the money is coming from El Chapo.

Your private hell must be a terrifying place, Punkin!
I’m sorry I don’t share your distaste for the USA nor your enthusiasm for making our homeland into one big California.

It really is. But, from what I’m reading on this thread, the Feds have never been able to find even one dollar of El Chapo’s money.
If they do happen to find it, I’m still confused by something in this article. Cruz introduced this legislation in April 2017. What happened to it? Did ever make it out of committee and to the Senate floor for a vote? If it did, and it made it to the House, did it ever make it to the floor for a vote there?
