FULL TITLE: WATCH: Serena Williams SNAPS, Chokes at U.S. Open Championship Days After Backing Kaepernicks Anthem Protests, Nike (Videos)
Naomi Osaka claimed her first Grand Slam title on Saturday after defeating Serena Williams 6-2, 6-4, in the
final of the U.S. Open. With the victory, Osaka became the first Japanese woman to win a Grand Slam singles title.
Williams was looking to win her 24th Grand Slam singles title, which would have tied her with Australias Margaret Court for the all-time record. Williams lost after receiving multiple penalties from Chair Umpire Carlos Ramos including a point penalty for breaking her racket, and then a game penalty for arguing with Ramos and calling him a thief.

read a comment on another website claiming the well-respected umpire, Carlos Ramos, was banned from the presentation ceremony by Serena.
can’t find confirmation, but it is usual for the umpire to first receive a small gift before they get to the players, and that didn’t happen.
She sure knows a lot about entitlement, since she is a member of America’s #1 privileged victim group that is entitled to huge benefits.
Basketball destroyed by it’s participants. Football destroyed by it’s participants. Tennis destroyed by it’s #1 participant. If the media could treat sports and politics like two separate issues, it could at least save sports.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, when she is posing for good looks, she looks like a man unless I focus on her breasts. Her action photos often look subhuman.
With Serena you have to wonder.
Some are more equal than others.
And the mob takes another step down the road away from civility. Sad.
POST OF THE THREAD RIGHT HERE.
For those who may still be on the fence as to whether Serena took coaching during the match. First, If you look at the video just prior to the point when her coach was giving her signals, she was definitely looking up at his box. Secondly, his signal was for her to come into the net, which she did on that next point. Third and most important, Serena told the umpire in her first I dont cheat rant, that when her coach gives her thumbs up signals thats just a come on, lets go. Serena claimed she did t see his hand signals and wasnt watching him........then how did she know he had used thumbs up ? (Which actually was far more than just a thumbs up)
The coach admitted it if you read the article, but he said it was OK because the men do it and get away with it so the women should too.
Has the umpire apologized yet?
I anticipate Big Media lining up to defend her against the “Trump-like” umpire by tomorrow.
Because of all the misogyny...
Oh another schadenfreude moment for the leftists.
Black woman loses match to oriental woman and yells at Latino judge.
No pure white Americans to blame!
Fighting for women’s rights.
Why have separate brackets for men and women then?
And the most puzzling statement: “I’ve seen other men...”
Other men?
New Balance...Fit my wider foot...Could never find a comfortable Nike shoes...
And New Balance are USA made IIRC...
New Balance is NOT entirely U.S. made.
.
The men will have to wear callibrated arm braces that limits their serve speed to that of their competitor
And ballerinas will wear lead boots so the disabled ballerinas can participate.
I recall there was an editorial in WSJ may years ago about this....including a jocky wearing a space suit for protection against falls.
Some perspective - Serena was given a warning for coaching, not a penalty. Everyone gets warnings, all referees are different, you shrug it off and keep playing - especially at a critical point of the match. Serena was her own wost enemy.
Agreed. Unfortunately it degrades Free Republic with such comments.
From: "Naomi Osaka is a black as Obama is" at post 24, to
"Maybe low class behavior is just a Black thing?" at post 40 to
"I am always amazed to hear her speak at all. She looks completely simian" at post 50 to
"She a ho" at post 58
are just not classy. Freepers putting their foot in their mouth with those sorts of comments (and some that are clearly racist) detracts from Serena being her own worst enemy in yesterday's match.
