(snip) NBC's 'Meet the Press' host Chuck Todd repeatedly asked Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin about the president's attitude, language, and word choice.
President Trump made fun of the NBC host's "sleepy eyes" at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, and speculated that NBC might be "worse than CNN". "He's a sleeping son of a bitch, I'll tell you," Trump said about Chuck Todd's droopy eyes.
"I understand you wanted to get back on an economic message, but ... last night he was praising authoritarian figures in China and North Korea and encouraging boos at the American press," Chuck Todd reported. "Does this mean this American president is now longer going to be preaching about the values of freedom of the press and democracy around the world?"
The Treasury Secretary replied that he is on the show to talk about policy and wants to focus on that.
"If that's what we should be focused on, why can't the president focus on that, sir? ... Would you call last night's speech a focused speech?" Todd asked.
"I wasn't at the campaign rally, ..." Mnuchin stated.
Todd doubled down: "So should we stop covering the campaign rally? If it doesn't matter what he says there. If we're to dismiss everything he says at the campaign rally as you're trying to imply, are you saying we shouldn't cover these things?"
"You're putting words in my mouth," Mnuchin said. "You should obviously carry them because these are important moments for the president and this is news. What I'm trying to say is, I'm focused on the policies... What I came to talk about were the president's policies."
Asked for a question on policy, Chuck Todd asked one final question: "When [President Trump] uses vulgarity to talk about individuals, what are they supposed to tell their kids?"

Well, yeah... there’s always THAT, ain’t there... :^)
“...Hollyweird buddies work overtime exposing our children to MUCH worse...”
We do have some control over that, at least.
“...Is Todd so stupid...”
Nah.
He’s just being a Drama Queen, like most liberal knuckleheads. Surprised he didn’t wipe away a fake tear or two as well.
Ahh, the eloquence...
“... as can all male dogs....”
That’s called “shining up the boyos”... :^)
I often wonder if they even realize how idiotic they sound when they mouth off like that.
They still haven’t caught on that NO ONE gives a damn about “vulgar language”?
And hello you filthy hypocrites, newsrooms are the most foul-mouthed place on Earth.
Great movie... great trilogy... great scene.
Brando’s makeup-aging job was amazing.
Nice tough love scene.
The scene in the restaurant with Michael, the cop McClusky, and the mobster Solozzo is amazing too.
Pacino’s facial expression as he sat there listening to Solozzo ramble on was priceless. You could see he was working it out in his head how he was going to do the shoot.
When Pacino fired the gun into Capt. McCluskey was one of the most believably grotesque death scenes, when Sterling Hayden was grabbing at his own throat. Of course, they outdid themselves with the bullet through the eyeball of Moe Greene.
Sterling Hayden... he was much more than an actor. He was a Marine, and an OSS man during the Second World War.
He was no soyboy like you see today in Hollywood.
From his Bio:
War service
After two film roles, he left Hollywood and joined the United States Marine Corps as a private, under the name John Hamilton, a nom de guerre he never used otherwise. While at Parris Island, he was recommended for Officer Candidate School.
After graduation, he was commissioned a second lieutenant and was transferred to service as an undercover agent with William J. “Wild Bill” Donovan’s Office of the Coordinator of Information. He remained there after it became the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).
As OSS agent John Hamilton, his World War II service included sailing with supplies from Italy to Yugoslav partisans and parachuting into fascist Croatia. Hayden, who also participated in the NaplesFoggia campaign and established air crew rescue teams in enemy-occupied territory, became a first lieutenant on September 13, 1944, and a captain on February 14, 1945. He received the Silver Star (for gallantry in action in the Balkans and Mediterranean; “Lt. Hamilton displayed great courage in making hazardous sea voyages in enemy-infested waters and reconnaissance through enemy-held areas”), a Bronze Arrowhead device for parachuting behind enemy lines, and a commendation from Yugoslavia’s Marshal Tito. He left active duty on December 24, 1945.
And yes, I DO know about his communist affiliations and HUAC testimony (heading that off right away...)
Man, I remember the dust up when W Bush called some New York Times reporter a “major league ass hole” on a hot mic, no one cared then either. It is strange to see the media attack Trump on a moral basis, this type of stuff, the porn star deal. I don’t think many people care in the real world.
My first disturbing movie was when I was around five. It was at a drive-in and in black and white. An antagonist stabs a woman in the face with a pair of scissors. The blades left a gaping hole in her face that she dabbed at the rest of the movie. Johnny Belinda it wasn’t.
Yeah, he was a Red, but still a better actor than 99% of what Hollyweird produces today.
I thought that involved Cheney and they were talking about Sen. Leaky Leahy.
