Pastor Robert Jeffress says porn star allegations are ‘totally irrelevant’ when supporting president

Pastor Robert Jeffress defended Trump against a porn star’s claims that she romped with the president, calling the allegations “totally irrelevant” to those of faith who support Trump.

Michael Cohen, a lawyer for Trump, admitted in February that he paid Clifford $130,000, but didn’t say much more at the time.

As a result of Cohen’s admission, Clifford may be able to speak freely about the alleged affair, since the purported non-disclosure agreement may have been breached by Cohen’s remarks.

Clifford announced on Tuesday that she filed a civil suit against Trump in attempt to void the non-disclosure agreement.

Trump representatives have vehemently denied the affair, and Clifford herself has made the same denials in a written statement.

NBC News reported on Wednesday that Cohen has tried to silence Clifford with temporary restraining orders.

“Either religious morality matters in politics, or it doesn’t. If these pastors want to call out sin, then call it out. But if pastors say “this immorality is important” and then say “this immorality is irrelevant” then they are hypocrites and the belief system they claim to represent is a sham.”

When have they said “this immorality is important?” Do you mean with the POTUS themself or society in general?

Clifford herself has made the same denials [of an affair] in a written statement

This seems pretty crucial and seems to be overlooked.

If this woman is herself denying there was an affair, then I don't see what the big whoop is.

Maybe she was paid the money as part of some severance package, or some money to stop a lawsuit alleging some unfounded (yet still dangerous) claim of work place harassment (by someone in Trump's organization not Trump himself), that would have cost more money to litigate than just settle.

Who knows, and who cares, what it was for at this point. If she's denied herself there was no affair.

Am I missing something?

No one is without sin. Every one of us have very likely done things in our lives that we certainly do not want others to know about. Our mothers, dads, wives, children, friends. I am sure we all don’t want certain things known. Even things that we may have done 20, 35 years ago could cost you your current job. That is how some people react to that kind of stuff. HOWEVER, IF you truly confess to our LORD Jesus Christ your sin and ask for forgiveness, He has to forgive us. That is what the Scriptures say. So, no matter what people think, ONLY WHAT GOD THINKS should “bother” you. You ask for forgiveness with true repentance and you get forgiven! That is not license to keep doing it every week and thinking all you need to do is repent once a week and get forgiven, and then go about your week again all over again, sinning without thought to it. If you sin, if you have truly become a believer in Christ Jesus, a lifestyle change HAS to have taken place, and doing things you shouldn’t that are sins, SHOULD bother us. If they don’t, then a change probably has not taken place. So, God KNOWS all our sins. Regardless of what PEOPLE think or say about us, IT IS HIM THAT SHOULD BOTHER YOU!!!

These guys are either in the morality business or they aren't. I do think it's instructive for Americans to see evangelical hucksters explain this stuff away because it undermines their position and makes them less relevant in future elections.

Personally, I don't care what Trump does in the consensual romance department.

Like Bill Clinton, Donald Trump was a Democrat when these allegations were said to have taken place.

Unlike Bill Clinton, if these allegations actually took place, it wasn’t done in the Oval Office by a sitting POTUS.

Nope, it just proves she is either a Liar or a Liar.

The only question is the timing of her Lies.

When have they said “this immorality is important?”

There was a time not too long ago when moral preening and finger pointing was coin of the realm for men like Jerry Falwell, Ralph Reed and the like. Bill Clinton was hammered mercilessly for his consensual sexcapades. They even called their club the Moral Majority. You don't hear it from them much now. Partly, I think because Trump is in office, but mostly because their influence in on the wane and they are trying to salvage what little political juice the have left. The sooner these preaches are off the scene, the better.

Directed by John Curran and starring Jason Clarke as Ted Kennedy and Kate Mara as Mary Jo Kopechne, the pic details the true story of the night Kennedy drove his car off a bridge, which resulted in the death of Kopechne and pretty much destroyed his chance at the White House. Kennedy left the scene of the accident before reporting it to officials hours later, which he admitted in his testimony. He was essentially given a slap on the wrist with a two-month suspended jail sentence.

For the writers, sticking to the facts was imperative when dealing with a well-known case surrounding one of the most famous last names in history.

“The Chappaquiddick incident is something that’s marked by a lot of conspiracy theories and a lot of falsehoods and so for us, part of the journey was making sure that we stuck to the facts and stayed as close to the truth as possible,” said Allen.

Also as important for the writers was to honor Kopechne in the process of making the film.

Let's say I have to have my home rewired - and I have two electricians in front of me:

One man has been sued on several occasions, has a bad ‘Better Business’ page - and was rumored to have caused a house to burn down, (but that wasn't proved”). BUT HE'S FAITHFUL TO HIS WIFE.

The other electrician does beautiful work, has amazing recommendations and offers a fair price. BUT IT'S RUMORED HE ONCE HAD SEX WITH THE TOWN SLUT.

Who would YOU choose?

I love the fact that Liberals love making an issue of sex when they think it will divide the conservative base. If it were one of their guys, they would be laughing about it.

Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!

Everyone does liberal sluts...

What's the big deal here? Are Chuck Todd and Morning Joe saying ‘they've never had illicit sex’ with a liberal woman? Are they being hypocrites raving about a man being unfaithful? LOL - gimme a break.

Is that really happening - are they nuts??
