I’d like to see us get the hell out of there. Syria is no threat to us. North Korea is.

Not surprising. Contrary to widespread belief Russian are predominately anti-war. Always have been.

It is our business, Assad and Putin are the ones creating the refugees coming to the West, they’d destablize the west this way and it was just announced that Russia and China are not following sanctions against North Korea. Oh, but the Putin luvrs will be all over us to fawn over Syria and Russia. Yes, and Syria is a big NK ally.

Every player in the Middle East has worked with, and supplied arms to terrorists. Juan McCain and the clowns played their parts according to the previous administration’s desire to destabilize the region, but there were no good players in the region. Every faction other than the Kurds have played false and continue to do so.

If you think the Russians hands are not stained with blood, both evil and innocent, in all this, you are either ignorant or a troll. They do, however, have national interests at stake, and they have killed bad guys. Our interest has never been proven or pure. We let tens of thousands be slaughtered while vilifying a dictatorship that never approached that type of violence.

Now another dictator, under the aegis of NATO, is attacking the only honorable fighters in the region and we, with the exception of some SOF operators, do little to assist. The Russians really don’t care beyond keeping a beachhead and maintaining power. It’s a win any way for them and a disaster for the US.

While many on the right cheer the end of Obama and his Arab Spring, the quagmire is far from over. The only honorable path out is to ally with the Kurds and allow them ownership of the lands soaked with their blood; however, I’m not sure even Trump will go that far.

Please note: RT is Kremlin-financed agitprop.

If it’s about Russian culture or how Russians live day-to-day in out-of-the-way places, I might believe the story.

But anything to do with foreign affairs or politics? Gotta view it as the Kremlin-approved line.

Totally aware. :) And I agree.

This poll is fair though and Levada center is highly respected all around for opinion gauging in the post-Soviet space.

There is no way Trump will send weapons to Marxist-Lenninists. The erstwhile PKK are just being used as cannon fodder by some very evil outsiders.

The PKK are a minority faction of the Kurds and your slander is misdirected. As you know, the YPG are the majority, and they do not share ideology or methodologies. These “Marxist-Lennonists” are the only force in the region that has sheltered minorities including Christians and Druze. Theirs is a complicated history, and they don’t fit nicely into our comfortable Western ideological boxes, but your characterization is just Turkish propaganda.

The only valid part as far as the “communist” charge would be the Kurds have set up communal agriculture similar to the Israeli Kibbutzes. Such ventures have proven very successful and make sense in the region, but you already know that. Not every conservative jumps at every red flag, especially when it’s weilded by a Matador serving the real Reds and their dictator friends.

Turkey and Russia are not our friends, and it would be inhuman to leave the brave people who truly defeated ISIS in their hands. Whatever happens, Turkey and their new Red friends will find the YPG much more resilient than the typical Arab mob army.

Rebranding ISIS as Turkish Army, allying with Russia, or smearing the PKK label on all Kurds won’t change the moral equation much. The difference is the big players have no monopoly on truth. Those who know, know; and I for one pray constantly for the brave Kurdish fighters who stood virtually alone in their opposition to the worst genocide seen in this century.

Civil comments indeed. I just see any number of people posting stuff from them uncritically, apparently unaware of the background of that source.

I’ll have to check out Leveda Center materials.

The Marxist-Lennist Kurds are being armed by evil outsiders who only want to use them as cannon fodder to destabilize the region.
