Has Trump Made Approval Polls Meaningless? (media stomps its feet)

The stock market keeps breaking records, and the latest gross domestic product data show that the real economy is roaring, too. The tax cut bill—despite being about as popular as North Korea—moved significantly closer to Senate passage on Wednesday, as Republican senators on the fence swallowed their doubts and voted to move it to the floor for a Thursday vote. This same tax bill will do much to gut the same Affordable Care Act that was “saved” a few months ago by three defecting Republicans. Another Trump nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals was confirmed by the Senate, meaning that Trump will have placed nine of his nominees on federal appeals courts, three time as many as Obama had placed at this point in his presidency. A federal district court has allowed Trump to place his budget director as temporary head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; the same budget director, who as a congressman, called the agency “a sad, sick joke.” Across the executive branch, industry lobbyists have been placed in charge of everything from drug pricing to environmental policy, while some of the sharpest critics of decades’ worth of trade and immigration policies are now in charge. And in Alabama, Trump’s preferred choice for the Senate, former Judge Roy Moore, has opened up a significant lead over Doug Jones in the days after highly credible accounts of sexual misconduct with teenage girls.

All of this—and much, much more—is happening under a president who, month after month, earns the lowest job-approval ratings of any first-year president, and whose policies—from taxes to health care to immigration to the environment—are rejected by thumping majorities of Americans.

How is this possible?

Yes.

Most sensible people began long ago to realize that polls are used as propaganda. We just don’t answer them.

“He is where he is because roughly 80,000 votes in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania—about 1/30th of 1 percent of total votes cast—gave him his Electoral College margin."

Let's see: 80,000 X 30 X 100= 240,000,000.

The correct total is somewhere in the vicinity of 137,000,000.

This guy needs some help with his maff skills.

How is this possible?

we’ve wised up and don’t believe the fake stream media, that’s what happened!

We don’t believe propaganda masquerading as news, like this story for example, that proclaims the charges against Roy Moore are “highly credible”. These charges are anything BUT credible and large numbers of people from those time periods have refuted the claims of the accusers, but of course the Democrat lapdog fake stream media, like politico for example, will NEVER publish information like that because actually telling both sides of a story is anathema to what the fake stream media is about, namely pure and unadulterated Democrat propaganda.

after highly credible accounts of sexual misconduct with teenage girls.

Highly credible to people who so want to believe such things, pretty thoroughly discredited otherwise.

Houston we found the problem. Cranial rectal inversion. The tax cut bill is really really really really really unpopular here in the Swamp. Oh and let's not forget the fact that Trump is a Putin lover.

Not only do they lack the ability to understand, but they don't even want the ability to understand.

It's not about finding out what folks want, but telling them what to think. Are you a racist or do you agree that Trump should be impeached? You can nuance the question how you want, but that is the prevailing view here in the swamp.

Don't worry, he'll do much better next time. Then all you whiny leftists will admit he is legitimate, right?

We don’t believe propaganda masquerading as news

Or propaganda masquerading as polls to return to the headline of the article.

You see. Deplorables are immune to facts. That is the problem. We report that he is unpopular, but you decide he isn't? How is that even possible?

"...are rejected by thumping majorities of Americans."

"are rejected by thumping majorities of the usual communism-loving fellow travelers."

Most of those folks have a severe case of TDS.

You have to see how bad it is here in the swamp. Swampcritter heads are exploding like rotten pumpkins. The spew is toxic. I think the psychologists call the phenomenon an extinction burst. All kinds of folks who haven't had a real job for 30 year suddenly find themselves reorganized without portfolio. They still get a paycheck but they demand to know - what am I going to do - as if that ever bothered them before when they had a job title and a secretary to keep their appointments.

What ought to really scare them is the very real possibility that the economy continues to roll together with just one big foreign policy win, in either Iran or North Korea. If that happens, “they ain’t seen nothing yet!”

Progressives will never understand. Their ideology renders them incapable of considering they might be wrong about anything.

This is very upsetting to me. As an applied mathematician and Statistician I view math as a search for the truth. To knowing, and willingly bias a poll to shape public opinion is disgusting to me.

And if past is prologue, there is no reason to think his latest effusions, conspiracy theories and head-snapping denials of the patently obvious, will make any difference.

It’s not enough that we make the snowflakes scream at the sky and wear pussy hats. Now we are snapping their wittle necks with shock.

No American that is sane, objective, truthful, honest believes any of these political polls. The pollsters continue to fool we, the people, and themselves. I have news for them....the American people have your number, you are not fooling anyone but yourselves.
