The list of Republicans who voted NO on the Tax bill makes a very clear statement about the future of their party in the Blue States. They are a dozen or so poor souls clinging to the old politics way of doing things. Knowing he had the votes to pass a tax bill that would destroy the states these people come from, Speaker Paul Ryan gave them permission to vote NO.
In old pre-Trump politics this would shield them from effective attacks and save their jobs; but those days are over.
The bill contains the greatest attack by a majority party on the minority party in at least 80 years. It will end the SALT State and Local Tax deduction from federal income tax returns.
This will mean those who live in what the media and Democrats derisively call Flyover Country will no longer be forced to subsidize the Democrats purchase of votes using their tax money.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has called the SALT elimination a DISASTER for his state. Do we need more to convince us SALT is a great start for dismantling the Democrats shake down system of squeezing all Americans to pay for their vote buying schemes?
As time goes by and make no mistake it wont be a long time middle class MAKERS will abandon the 10 or so states owned and controlled by Democrats because the make up taxes (see things like soda tax) will be just too much to carry.
When this happens more TAKERS will arrive as they will be squeezed out of the other 40 states by things like workfare, food stamp cuts and threats of deportation.
The unavoidable result of these factors will be that Democrats will be sealed into 10 states that look like Hawaii. They will no longer be able to offer a threat to Republican power on the national stage.
In 2018 the Democrats will take back most if not all of the few Republican seats in these states and seem to be gaining strength; but it will be an illusion. The 2020 census redistricting will draw away congressional districts lost by the hollowing out Blue States and give them to Red States. Lost seats will be made up enough to maintain a working majority for the Republicans.
Enforcement of voter identification laws will lead to discouraged and financially destroyed Democrats quitting politics.
Deportation and voter ID enforcement will make Blacks the Democrats only reliable minority group.
This will result in Democrats being forced to support things like Reparations and a separate Black nation to bow to the radical leftists in the Black Congressional Caucus. It will be calamitous for the Democrats.
As taxes rise in Blue States to provide Democrats with the money to buy votes, industries like Wall Street and Department store shopping that do not need a brick and mortar location will find it much cheaper to move to a Red State.
When they awake to these factors Senate Republicans will pass the tax bill. They will come to realize that their hatred of Donald Trump pales before the opportunity for lifetime job security his tax plan presents to them.
Isn't it interesting how SO many uniformed posters, claim to know and understand what those who disagree with their posts earn, pay in taxes ( though many ask one to post ALL financial matters on a thread ), spend and on what, and whom they hire to do what.
The really astute avoid taxes altogether.
Yes. You forgot:
5) "Just tell your state to tax you less"
And my favorite:
6) "If you are itemizing, you probably have more than me anyway, so you should pay more"
True, but I didn’t want to list all of the moronic posts we’ve all gotten. :-)
There is no doubt we are now winning the argument on FR.
But that does not translate to changing the way people will vote. Because voting and emoting are the very same thing.
And there’s no doubt the Republicans have found a messaging expert or many. Perhaps Trump taught them.
Because they have convinced enough people that this tax plan is, not good for them, but bad for those they hate. And it will pass, and be signed into law.
Oh no my friend, not yet. We're actually just now getting a good picture of where the battle lines are drawn.
I live in a blue state too. We will always be outnumbered, as long as our Lib/Prog neighbors don't have to bear the full weight of high state taxation.
I would like to have more people voting *with* me for lower state taxation. Wouldn't you? This might be the way.

Well. Sen Daines said floated SALT repeal for corporations in his call with Trump. And? "He liked the idea."
Doubt it makes it into the final bill, but at least it's out there. Subsidizing corps to locate in hi SALT states is much worse than subsidizing individuals there.
I am not going to pay more just because your state taxes you more. You choose to live there.
Same reporterette...
“Sen Daines says the SALT repeal for corporations brings in more than enough to cover pushing the 17.4% pass-thru income deduction to 20% “
That’s a stupid use of the money. Cronyism at it’s finest.
The pass-throughs (apparently) would still have the deduction- and get a bigger deduction.
The intent is supposed to be to make corps and pass-throughs more equitable,
I’m not a hypocrite, I live in a low tax state.
You will see the wailing and knashing of teeth from the Moonbats on this one.
I save 10% overall. I cannot help Moonbat Nation. Get your own states in line.
You are the only one to see this for what it is.
The States are now accountable for every SALT tax they impose with no bailout from the fed. It will lead to more people being educated on their own governments.
Yeah, I'll work on that.
In the meantime, why don't you work on getting the useless RINO liars such as Paul "I Went After The Pensions Of Disabled Veterans" Ryan and Mitch "I Left The Army Under Suspicious Circumstances" McConnell in line. You can work on them to stop trying to raise our taxes instead of lowering them.
Work on them to stop taking away every measly deduction we have, including education benefits, medical expenses, mortgage interest, personal exemptions, and interest due to loans on RVs, boats, and second homes. Work on them to abandon their double crossing plan to give corporations a massive tax break (and keep their deductions), while saddling the middle class with the bill.
Work on the RINOs to stop taking care of only their donors and corporations at the expense of the middle class.
And work on Trump to keep his promises.
Donald Trump said during a rally in Scranton, PA on the eve of the election:
"We will massively cut taxes for the middle class, the forgotten people, the forgotten men and women of this country, who built our country."
"Tax relief will be concentrated on the working and middle class taxpayer. They will receive the biggest benefit and it won't even be close."
Go work on all of that.
Sadly there are some very gullible people, who will believe just about ANYTHING they hear and then repeat it; thoughtlessly.
But they won't.
They need our money ($1.5 Trillion worth) to "pay for" the massive cuts for the corporations.
So in the end, we get screwed.
“when we are outnumbered and reviled and impugned unceasingly? “
You should have seen it 3 weeks ago lol
>> CA, NJ, NY and IL subsidize the red states.
Few are willing to accept this fact.
Households in CA and NY contribute more to the fed than households in TX and other red states — upwards of 50% more in some cases.
Top household/individual contributers to the fed, in order, are CA, NY, TX, and Florida a distant 4th. Top corporate tax contributers to the fed, in order, are TX, CA, & NY varying by only a few percent.
This tax bill is red state welfare.
Yep, that's exactly what we are according to some dumbasses on this thread. As long as they get theirs, they're happy to throw their fellow Conservatives and/or Republicans to the wolves.
They embody everything that's wrong with this country. They're the problem.
Have you forgotten how many times we have been on such threads together? ;^)
Trump is the President of the USA.
Go figure out where your state taxes reside.
