Older liberals like Bob Schieffer, Tom Brokaw, and Dan Rather, all pre-Baby Boomer journalists, use the rhetoric of the old school liberals of the Great Society and Watergate eras to denounce conservatives and patriots. Two generations ago, this language was used to denounce Barry Goldwater, George Wallace, and Richard Nixon. Oddly enough, their rhetoric is borrowed from an all but vanished tradition of classical education that was conservative in a cultural sense. Their thoughts are ones that typical Millennial snowflakes, their spiritual grandchildren, are incapable of using.
