The great Norman Podhoretz, in his masterful book, “Why Are Jews Liberals,” from whence this article is drawn, seems to conclude...that the Jews have only managed to exist through their adoption of “universalist” ideas—what I would call, Statist ideas—which supremely exist and shed their spoors mostly on the Left side of a leftist-stained table cloth.
We are talking civilly at table here, okay? No conspiracies of “Jew Lizard Masters From Space,” or the Rothschild Illuminati, or anything crazy, okay? We are just—for the moment—talking here.

Yes, much of it is because the Democrats are "for the workingman".
With President Trump though, I think that connotation might be changing.
There are a lot of conservative Jews. Mark Levin is one. Krauthammer is another. Liberalism is more a reflection of geography in the US. There is even a Jewish Second Amendment group called Jews for the Protection of Firearms Rights.

Yup. Is there any other group that chooses to live in urban areas at the same % as Jews that then votes any differently in those areas? The problem is that that polling data from rural living Jews is pretty sparse. They would usually just get lumped in with ‘other’.

While I’m interested in the answer(s) to the original question, I’ve been reading some of the posts and just shaking my head.
“Bright” and “liberal” are mutually exclusive. You can’t be liberal and have more than nine or ten functioning IQ points. They’re lemmings with not a single original thought.

Then why are their foremost politicians so anti second amendment? Defies rational thought. Do they want to go through it all over again?
