The great Norman Podhoretz, in his masterful book, Why Are Jews Liberals, from whence this article is drawn, seems to conclude...that the Jews have only managed to exist through their adoption of universalist ideaswhat I would call, Statist ideaswhich supremely exist and shed their spoors mostly on the Left side of a leftist-stained table cloth.
We are talking civilly at table here, okay? No conspiracies of Jew Lizard Masters From Space, or the Rothschild Illuminati, or anything crazy, okay? We are justfor the momenttalking here.
Okay; heres THE problem: even though pro-Jew and pro-Israel forces have moved to the right, the Jews have not.
WTF?
Why not?

Why Do So Many Jews Vote Democrat?
With the influx of Jews from Central and Eastern Europe during and after WW II many members of the Jewish community were attracted to labor and socialist movements and numerous Jewish newspapers such as Forwerts and Morgen Freiheit had a socialist or communist orientation. Left wing organizations such as the Arbeter Ring and the Jewish People’s Fraternal Order played an important part in Jewish community life until World War II. Liberal Jewish Americans were not just involved in nearly every important social movement, but in the forefront of promoting such issues as workers rights, civil rights, woman’s rights, freedom of religion, freedom from religion, peace movements, and various other progressive causes. So they fit right into the system that way. Even in the earlier days, in his last election, 90% of the American Jewish voted for Roosevelt.

The “bright, educated” yields to liberalism. As Rush says, LIberalism always comes first and dominates all else. Including rational thinking.
And he posted it in “Blogs and Personal” like he’s supposed to so what’s your point? That you have a grasp of the obvious?
That’s pretty funny; not really historically true, but funny :)
Boy! Are you wrong about this!
The ones I know recognize what has been going on here. They all say, "I fled the Soviet Union to get away from all this and it followed me here." Sometimes Rush takes their calls. Listen when he does. These are almost all Jews.
ML/NJ
They rejected Jesus as well.
“Theyve been voting wrong since Barabbas...”
I hear Barabbas voted for Hillary.
Now the other side of the coin is the Southern Jews. Anyone who who grew up in the South probably remembers a small store on every courthouse square. It was a small "department store" run by a Jewish family. These little stores packed in everything you'd ever need—appliances, kids clothes, suits, dresses, dishes, pots, pans, bathtubs—everything.
It is amazing how much those small stores could fit inside and offer. They were the Walmart of their day. These merchants were usually not part of that wave of 20th century immigrants, and they could trace their American roots much deeper. Probably most counties throughout the South had some Jewish families.
These American Jews are (were?) as dissimilar from their New York brethren as night and day.
There is a line in the movie "Driving Miss Daisy" where Dan Akroyd's character makes this very distinction, and it is spot on. All Jews are not liberal New York Jews. Over the years, having known individual from both groups personally, there is without a doubt a clear distinction. Or at least once upon a time …
Now the stores are for the most part all gone. The families may still be there in some capacity, likely largely assimilated. And the offspring didn't go into the family business but probably went to university. And we all know what comes out of universities.
It was explained to me that Jews are attracted to the idealistic *promise* of heaven on Earth, because they have no belief, as such, in Heaven as an afterlife.
So, if paradise on Earth is the best you can hope for, what does that mean? First off, it means that Jews are *susceptible* to the desire to have a “messiah”, who will create a Jewish paradise on Earth.
Jews were badly burned by falling under the spell of a self proclaimed messiah named Sabbatai Zevi (1626-1676). Most of the European Jews got caught up in his fellowship.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabbatai_Zevi
So after that time, instead of trying to find a messiah, they sought out an idealistic philosophy that would fulfill that role.
Because the origins of leftism are basically an atheistic parody of The Bible, especially the Pentateuch, turned on its head, it was easier to grasp for both Jews and Christians. And because leftists will make idealistic promises about *anything* and *everything*, it made things particularly easy for non-religious Jews to embrace it.
But, OTOH, Jesus was a Jew ... right?
:)
You’d think the memory of the Holocaust would be more than enough for Jews to fear the concentration of power at the federal level . .
Along with the political worship of false idols
I agree that Jews who fled the Soviet Union have a totally different take.
“Looking for any more reasons why they should vote differently than their cohorts?”
I have no right to question how a person or group of people or (cohort) “should’ vote. I can simply review data and determine with a fair amount of certainty how people within a cohort may vote.
It is the responsibility of political parties and political candidates is to address the concerns of the people, while it is not the responsibility of the voters to serve the needs of the party or candidate.
I understand that you disagree.
Judaism is obsessed with altruism, which is considered one of the highest virtues. Altruism is one of the main foundational principles of libtardism, along with statism, dependency, and socialism. It just seems natural and comfortable for them to be libtards, and takes a lot of independent rational judgment to escape.
“Youd think the memory of the Holocaust would be more than enough for Jews to fear the concentration of power at the federal level . .”
I don’t think one needs to be Jewish to have “the memory of the Holocaust.”
For me, I can read about and recall my dad’s stories about WWII what he saw when they entered Germany and wonder about my mom’s Jewish family in Germany who simply disappeared.
We all have our memories of what happened.
I too can’t stand to watch film clips of camp victims/survivors
But I think I would take it even that much more personally if I was Jewish
I certainly wouldn’t support centralized government and hero worship (e.g. Obama, hilLIAR)
Not that I do anyway. But my point was, especially so if Jewish.
YES. That’s a big part of it. They are blinded by it. Totally.
As always they feel they are siding with the Power. They never realize the Power wants them dead or gone away. Also, there’s an awful lot of inbreeding; really.
Too much time spent dissecting every word in every book in every closet
