According to all the Instagram pictures of toes stretched out on deck chairs, many people looove the summer. They bask in the bright sun, revel in the heat, and dont especially mind the sand-in-the-bathing-suit/sunscreen-in-your-eye sensations of July and August; the moment Memorial Day weekend rolls into sight, its constant watermelon, sailboats, and beach barbeques.
And then there are the rest of us.

Buy yourself nice summer clother. Shorts, light button shirts, sandals, etc.
Then you want to go out to wear them.

Here is one of my summer hats. I can tell you I get smiles from the ladies:
I used "mirror image" in Photoshop so the lettering reads correctly.
I want to get a straw-hat too. :)

Well, I dunno. I'm not a big fan of summertime myself, but beer is the cure. Beer, that magical substance that cools you when the OAT is 103 Fahrenheit and your ballclub is losing 12-1 in the third inning. Beer, that can ease your apprehension when you're trying to shoot bottle rockets from yer butt cheeks on the 4th of July. Beer, that can help you make sense out of whacking a little white ball with a crooked stick and into a hole, where you take it out and do it all over again for some reason that is not entirely apparent in the absence of beer. "18 effin' times," as the late Robin Williams exulted. Beer, that nectar of the gods that consists of nutritious barley, poisonous hops, and just enough alcohol to make the woman (dear God, I hope it's a woman) at the end of the bar appear to be Helen of Troy. Beer, glorious beer!
It's also kinda good in winter. I mean, if what you really want to do is watch a football game topless in the middle of a blizzard. Let us praise beer!

120 (49 C) here yesterday south of Phoenix. Usually at lunch time on WFH days I go out on the patio to eat and watch the stars. Not tonight. It’s 94 at 1:30 in the morning with cloud cover. The good news is, it’s supposed to drop down to 117 today.

Two words: air conditioning
I much rather prefer the beach just after Labor Day when all the kids are gone. And the college kids are gone. And driving returns to a more leisurely pace. And some of the restaurants are closed but only some. It’s not that I don’t like the beach during the summer it’s just become a zoo and it’s no longer pleasurable to go there during the height of the summer season. I still fish therefore I am.

Here in coastal NC summer is miserable. High humidity and temps in the 90's.
I went to Texas one time and it was around 100*. Felt great! No humidity.
Dunno bout 120* tho'. d:^)

Ahhh, yes, beer the wonderful liquid that I used to live for and which now I am told raises my blood pressure. Beer, that heaven sent juice that gives me acid indigestion. Oh, well, at least water is much less expensive. There is still Muscadine wine, one of the greatest human inventions of all time as long as you don’t overdo it.
