Have you ever imagined that you were a public official who had just had it with the media’s nonsense? So you strode to the microphone and you just let it rip? You told them how dishonest they are. How ignorant. How ridiculous. What complete and utter embarrassments they are.

Did you ever imagine this was you? Or just wish that some public official who’d had enough would finally just let them have it?

I approve of people working to produce an information site and then using marketing to expose their work to as many people as possible. If that means inserting links to your stuff on other sites, I’m all for it.

If your work is good, you will grow. If it sucks, you will die.

Did you know that when the internet was first created, it was a foregone conclusion that it would never be used to buy and sell goods? And some were severely chastized by the community for attempting to sell a used item.

i.e. I don’t think your paradigm applies any more. The internet has moved on. Good stuff will prosper. Bad stuff will fade away. But there is nothing immoral or wrong about linking to your blog from sites that allow it. I’ve found some great stuff through some of those threads. I like to have the choices. And it is why FR is here: To share articles from other sources.

FR is not a members-only club, but it’s more like JimRob allows friends to come over and hang out in his rec room to talk conservative politics and issues of common interest.

Nobody is arguing about free enterprise or capitalism on the web, we’re talking about ethics and civilized behavior.

Exactly. I do not see anything unethical or uncivilized about it. In fact, I LIKE that these guys post from their own blogs. I’ve been exposed to some very interesting articles that way. I’m not seeing where there is harm being done.

I disagree. You have to be a member to post. I started here in 1998 and it was the only game in town. Now I read and post on a LOT of sites. the only strong difference between FR and the others is that the rest are supported by advertising.

Have you ever seen a single instance in which Sean_Anthony was involved in the discussion at all? I’m going to guess that answer is “no”. That comes across as rude to me. If you’re sharing articles it might be a good thing to share your own personal viewpoints and be part of the conversation you’re trying to start. But Sean_Anthony isn’t interested in the conversation, only driving traffic to CFP.

If Sean Anthony is doing all of the things you say he is then good for him! Isn’t America such a great country that people can innovate and come up with ways to provide a product and earn a living in such creative ways?

If I didn’t enjoy the articles I read on CFP I wouldn’t bother and the fact that CFP makes some money from them doesn’t bother me in the least. That’s how the New Media has to operate since they don’t sell newspapers or magazines.

I’d just hope that CFP is making regular contributions to FR since they depend on FR for at least part of their success.
