This is shocking and this is whats happened in my little town of Waimea: My eye dr for over 20 years , Dr Fischer, who disagreed with my political views that he read about in a letter I wrote to the editor to WHT, refused to return my calls for a medical emergency. I had returned home from D.C. where I had met candidate Donald Trump . I called his office 4 times and no one returned my calls. I finally just went in. I had a tumor growing in my eye as diagnosed from the urgent care clinic here in Waimea, and told to see my eye dr asap. When Dr Fischer saw me in his waiting room standing there trying to get an appointment, he very angrily said get into my office where he read me the riot act about supporting Donald Trump. I told him I disagreed and that I had just met Mr. Trump. He then said did he grab your ?, I was so shocked my face turned white according to the next person who saw me come out of his office. He said I am no longer his patient. I had to find a new eye dr. Then I start hearing from friends that theres an ad on the radio from my ex favorite happy hour place. The Redwater cafe here in Waimea. The ad says if your a Trump supporter your not welcome. Can you imagine if we had behaved this way when Obama was running for or was president? We need to start our own protests to celebrate everything our president is accomplishing. Thank you for letting me get this off my chest.

Agreed. Fascism at its finest.
David Cassidy played with them? Lol! Just kidding.
Spent eight days in Waimea once. Very rural point but with great access to the rest of the island.
“Jefferson Airplane as I recall. After Bathing At Baxters was the album.”
Weren’t they using the name, “The Great Society” when they recorded “After Bathing at Baxter’s?”
Probably need to file a complaint with the AMA and State licensing authority for ethics, professionalism and racial bias violations.
“just unbelievable”
Over the last three decades I have taken a lot of flak for saying that liberals were this bad. People just didn’t want to believe it.
Two weeks after inauguration day. I was at the doctor, the nurse asked some of the standard questions one of which was “In the last few weeks have you felt any depression or bad feelings?”
I told her that I haven’t felt this good in eight years.
Got a huge laugh.
Sell Hawaii to the Japanese. Give them such a good deal that they agree to take Puerto Rico too.
No way on the pie? I baked quite a few pies, cakes, and cupcakes without an oven while camping (with and without a Dutch oven). It impresses the Scouts and shows them what you can do with a little creativity.
I know that wasn’t your point, but it’s worth putting the idea out there for FR parents who camp with their kids . . . or for anyone who gets shipwrecked on a three hour tour.
I got food poisoning there once. Think that was the place...I'll report it on Yelp.

Agreed
I sure hope no one on this site leaves a review. </s>
I was visiting a relative in the hospital when a male nurse made a comment about Trump. I looked at the nurse, then the person I was visiting. I said nothing, as these people can affect your care and/or kill you.
Agreed
This is indeed a rare situation, where somebody wants a Democrat coming at them with a knife.
From what I found on-line for this “Dr. Fischer”, he is an optometrist (optometry doctor, OD), not an medical doctor (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO), who have far more training to become and ophthalmologist (eye surgeon). It is the MDs and ODs who would have taken that oath at graduation, that has replaced the Hippocratic Oath. This guy (”Dr.Fischer”) as an OD could do a basic eye exam and measure visual acuity, but not do surgery or deal with anything complicated—or probably even prescribe medications (though OD’s Rx’ing privileges vary from state to state). The subject of this article probably would have to see an MD/DO to get kind of treatment he will need.
Sue him out of business.
Leo, you could have saved yourself an awful lot of trouble by indicating at post 1, that you’re not the author.
Thanks for the additional clarification. What I know about doctors could fill a small sticky note- not much.
