The Second American Civil War is gradually coalescing into an observable phenomenon. The lines are being drawn and people are taking sides in noticeable ways. As it now stands, we have something of a "cold war" going on as it once existed between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Espionage, intelligence breaches, clandestine black bag operations, fifth column saboteurs, and the like. But important questions remain: As the war continues, how will the conflict evolve? Will it escalate? If so, what will be the flashpoint that puts it in full motion? Will it turn into a full-fledged armed conflict? As the storm clouds gather, a short history retrospective might shed some light on things to come.
November 6, 1860, President Lincoln is elected President of the United States. South Carolina would be the first state to secede from the Union a mere six weeks later. In January, five more states would follow. In February, Texas votes for secession and joins the newly established Confederate States of America. A constitution is ratified and former Senator and U.S. Secretary of War Jefferson Davis is appointed President of the Confederacy. Lincoln has yet to be inaugurated.
One week after Lincolns March 4 inauguration, Fort Sumter is bombarded by Confederate troops. Union troops are forced to surrender. Virginia secedes days later. On April 19, Lincoln issues a Proclamation of Blockade Against Southern Ports that formally recognizes an insurrection against the Government of the United States.
In June, two limited military engagements in Virginia, the Battle of Sewells Point and the Battle of Aguia Creek are fought to inconclusive results. The war spreads to West Virginia, and Missouri, resulting in the first two Union victories. Confederate forces achieve their first victory in the Battle of Big Bethel in Virginia.
On July 21, four months after President Lincoln is sworn in, the First Battle of Bull Run becomes the first major battle of the war. The First American Civil War would continue for the next three and a half years.
Thankfully, our current conflict has not yet approached military proportions, anti-Trump riots notwithstanding. These are little more than angry tantrums from an infantilized sector of the population who understand nothing of survival and self-sufficiency. In military terms they dont even qualify as skirmishes. And these melodramatic posers dont come close to being a genuine insurgency.
All Americans should pray that it stays this way. And we should always remember the words of General William Tecumseh Sherman:
I am sick and tired of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell.
But make no mistake. There is a major fight coming. Perhaps it will stay in the courts, and among our legislators, perhaps not. Is reconciliation possible? There may be a remote chance of that, but it looks more and more like each side of the growing divide have no intention of backing down. America hasnt faced this kind of disunity since 1861.
Ha. I won’t go near any zombie swarm.
If there is a war, they will have some trained military forces on their side.

Whatever it is that comes my way, it won’t be something I haven’t seen before.

We’re you in ‘Nam?
I’ve been reading about some sort of virus hitting banks in Europe, and ATMs not working.
“In other words, the majority of the population became too lazy to perform the work necessary to provide for themselves and what was left of the strong/productive/intelligent refused to continue to do it for them.”

Wanted to say thanks for sharing the link. Just spent a wonderful few moments reading the bio of Roy Sprouse.
I haven’t seen anything of Drudge, Zero Hedge, etc., yet.
AN historical is grammatically incorrect.
Historical begins with a consonant. You use “an” when the following noun begins with a vowel eg A house, an element.
An historical is an affectatious enunciation, someone trying to sound more sophisticated than they are.
Grammar nazi mode off.
Noticed that when I lived in the UK. Seems to have trickled over into our lexicon as of late. As well as speaking in an affected language in particular pronunciations. “Pok-eee-srahn”. Absolutely cracks me up.
No I haven’t seen anything in the US media either. Still with several countries moving to eliminate higher denominations of cash, it would be a good idea to stash some ten dollar bills for a just in case.
Europe started taxing the money in the banks, so you never know what the fools are going to do next.
Probably don’t need your own AR. There will be plenty of pickings after the 2nd or 3rd day of fighting.
Yes - It is too easy to say, "We've got the guns and we know how to use them." But we also have a respect for law and order as well as a disinclination to nurse hatred for others. These people are already unlawful, violent and hateful. If somebody puts guns in their hands and teaches them how to use them we've got a problem.
I guess I'm older than you are. I was taught that either was appropriate. A little googling showed me that in the US, up until about the late 1940s, actual usage was 50/50. Then it started to trend to mainly using "A" before words beginning with "h." It is speculated that there might be a regional difference. It some parts of the country there is a tendency to drop the "h" in words of 3 or more syllables, making the use of "AN" more natural.
MARK MY WORDS: An armed struggle will not begin while Trump is President. It will begin when/if there is another traitorous Leftist/Globalist in the White House who will:
1. Stack the Pentagon with fellow traitors and otherwise enfeeble our defenses;
2. Encourage / allow chaos in the streets while shackling law enforcement.”
3. INVITE the U.N. to INVADE AMERICA with Blue Helmets as “peacekeepers.”
THAT WILL BE THE TIME, MY FRIENDS.
One fundamental question which still eludes me is how much of this is due to Communist agitation. They are past masters at this kind of process, they have had plenty of practice, and they may think conditions are now ripe here for the next phase of the "armed struggle". We will see.
The correct question is How can the liberals, get command of the military, so as to go to war against the people who own most of the guns?
Zombie swarms may com to you, just station your cats well.
Don’t sell the leftists short - They may seem like wimps but they have absolutely no scruples when it comes to their beliefs.
Look at the millions killed by the Leninists, the Stalinists, the Maoists, the Khmer Rouge, Castro, etc.
They are ruthless and when it’s time for them to get arms they will.
Compare our polite Tea Party protests to the riots by the BLMs, the Berkeley SJWs etc. They are much more energized by and committed to their beliefs than we are to ours.
“Wouldn’t that sort of be like a self cleaning oven?”
LOL! That’s good!
