President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday that he is taking advice on his political appointees from the man he spent months railing against on the campaign trail: President Barack Obama.
Trump said on NBCs Today that he has sought the presidents advice on the candidates for various appointment-level positions and, in at least one case so far, has acted on that advice.
I have asked him what he would think of this one and that one, Trump said. I would say that, yes, I take his recommendations very seriously, and there are some people that I will be appointing, and in one case have appointed, where he thought very highly of that person, yes.

"I will say this, I've now gotten to know President Obama. I really like him. We have I think, I can say at least for myself, I can't speak for him, but we have a really good chemistry together. We talk, Trump said. He loves the country. He wants to do right by the country and for the country. And I will tell you, we obviously very much disagree on certain policies and certain things, but, you know, I really like him as a person.
Ive asked him what he thinks are the biggest problems of the country, what are some of the greatest assets going forward. And we have a very good dialogue, he continued. And I must tell you, I never met him before this and never spoke to him before this. I really, I do like him. I love getting his ideas. And I may differ in many cases. I differ very greatly in many cases.

I know that Obama 8 years ago wasn't going to follow Bush's advice and don't recall him praising Bush at the time. That's not saying he had to. He was elected running against Bush's policies. Trump did emphasize disagreements, though, and this olive branch may be strategy for Trump both in trying to unite the country and for future policy/deals. We see him reach out and meet with people like Al Gore, and he's due to meet with Rahm Emmanuel.
This is the interview that Trump did this morning on NBC news. Matt Lauer must still be in exile for how he questioned Hillary and Trump at the COC Forum. If you'll recall, the media was furious with Lauer because they said he was too tough on Hillary and not tough enough on Trump. NBC of course rectified this by having Lester Holt presider over a one sided debate where he held his fire on Hillary and went after Trump. The bottom line is that Matt Lauer was incredibly rude and disrespectful. This is NOT how Obama would have been treated had he gotten the cover - Hillary either. There wasn't a nice or positive question in that interview. The media speaks of unity and blames Trump as they stir division.

Yes. As a NEGATIVE, HELL NO filter. Donald isn’t stupid.
The name for the story is Louis Nelson. Got it wrong. Liam Neeson is an actor. Lol.
In taking obamas advice.........................if obama likes the pick, Trump crosses them off the list.
Trump consults with 0bama to make sure he knows who NOT to select.
If I were in Trump’s shoes I certainly would want a complete list of who Obama would pick....so I know who to avoid.
"Tell me... what other losers should I avoid?"
at this point Obama is being treated with kid gloves by Trump because he can actually do real damage to the country as he leaves office. also despite everything he does now have real experience with working with his cabinet in running the country and talking to him about his picks is wise because it does two things massage Obama’s ego and it might bring to Trumps attention an aspect of his cabinet pick he might not of seen.
I like that the fake prezident man child will shortly be out of office.
LOL, will Trump consult Obama on who should repeal and replace Obamacare?
Trump plays the game to get a first hand assessment of his opponent.
Folks, there is no pick that Trump didn't first want. He is finding opportunities to throw compliments at foes that show him to be magnanimous.

Politico trying to poison Trumps popularity...plan and simple
This is a good way to keep Obama “engaged” and less likely to cause further problems than he already has.
Trump is playing it well before the inaugeration.
Oh ok.
I’m throwing the BS flag on Odumbo ever loving the country — Someone who F’n loved the country wouldn’t say dumb$hit like...”we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” If you love the country WTF is there to fundamentally transform?!?
Well...eight years later we now know just what the “F” he was talking about — Odumbo did not/does not love this country and he will grow to hate it even more over the next four years as we take our place back as a leader and stop seeking permission to be “great” again.
Now we need President Trump to “fundamentally transform it back!!!”
“kid gloves”
You have got that right... Trump is leaning on
Pence and Reince— I AM SURE, Doubly sure! Trump
would like to be gone from this looser - but he and the Demon rats have had 8 long years to screw this country over-
So say some kind words and walk away-
( I have to do this Every Christmas!!- I actually have Communists in my extended family!!- they try to pick a fight every Christmas- I ask if they would like another cookie and walk away-— just what you got to do sometimes)
I have been 110% with Trump in all he is doing. But if he going to a man who has done such harm to this country, a man I detest, for advice, then I must temper my adulation of the next president. There are plenty of excellent people around him to give all the advice he needs. If I did Twitter, I’d tell him myself.
