I don’t understand Palin’s comments either.

The debate of ideas goes on. It’s called “freedom of speech”.

Technically, Sarah Palin is right. In a perfect world, every company should get exactly the same treatment, there shouldn’t be any special tax deals for just one company.

But, it’s an imperfect world, and right now Trump is still, legally, just an ordinary citizen with few legislative powers. That’ll change on Jan. 20th, when he gets some tools that can change the situation for ALL companies – like reforming the inefficient tax code and rolling back oppressive regulations, which cost companies money.

But for now, he did what he could. Can’t do it this way for every company, obviously.

Palin’s family is a train wreck.

She has a chance to do something now. I dont understand this unless she is hacked off about something going on behind the scenes.

Wherever she is coming from, I find discord intolerable. My friends used to say she hates all the fighting in Washington. I wrote her in as a lib. Someone had to stop the mess the libs were causing

But this is kookoo. Discord against trump. And I said it all along. On record.

In this case, of course the government is going to keep American courtroes solvent within the IS. Especially if it comes down to the IRS having burdened them, nafta agreements, EPA refs. All things the government caused to begin with

Paling is going after trump on business

Ok

I think she did not get the job she wanted, and now she is trying to get out front of the right wing of the party.

A lot of the more conservative crowd are not going to like when Trump cuts deals. Because he is going to be cutting those deals with Pelosi and Schumef.

None of this should be a shock—except that it’s Palin doing it first.

To be honest, there was a mix of carrots and sticks to push Carrier to make the right decision. Yes, Trump touted the likely reduction in regulatory burdens. Yes, the Pence’s allies in Indiana put together a few pork barrel tax incentives. But the big stick, lingering in the background, was the threat of loss of federal contracts. Carrier’s parent company United Technologies, depends of federal contracts for about a third of their revenues. They did not want to be on the naughty list of an incoming Trump administration.

Is that a bit unseemly? Yes. Do I want to see that happen all the time? No. Hopefully long term, the United States will again become a low-tax, low-regulation environment where there is little corruption and lots of transparency. If that happens, corporations will move work and jobs here naturally.

However, I don’t feel the least bit bad, after decades of corrupt government bargains and deals on behalf of elites and insiders, that the power of the Presidency was utilized on behalf of saving the jobs of 1000 workers, who had no insider connections.

If this is bullying, lets have more bullying.

What she said was spot on.

She did not criticize Trump. The details of the conversation have not been released.

She said she hoped the deal would be for all companies (policy, law), and not just Carrier.

She’s right. I get the feeling that the Palin bashers here didn’t bother to read what she said.

Of course the MSM will spin it beyond recognition.

“As far as tax credits or subsidies are concerned, those came from the state of IN”

This is what I thought, If fact, then Trump gave them nothing and got nothing (personally) in return. And that’s not crony capitalism.

My understanding is he brokered a deal between the state of IN & the company. He was the go between. Trump’s specialty is to make deals that work.

My initial reaction is that she is right, but the quote I read said “IF” this happened... the media immediately reported it as she called it out as crony capitalism...

I myself, think he went into the meeting and pointed out that the move would not benefit them like it would have before and the same rules are going to apply to everybody, which would negate her “IF” disclaimer. Nothing particularly special... one article I read, sounded to me like the parent company might lose some future high dollar contracts if they proceeded... moving this relatively small subsidiary.
