Queen Margery – dead – by wildfire

King Tommen – dead – by suicide – jumped out a window

Mace Tyrrell – dead – by wildfire

Loras Tyrrell – dead – by wildfire

High Septon – dead – by wildfire

Lancel Lannister – dead – by wildfire after being stabbed by a whisperer

Grand Maester Pycelle – dead -stabbed by throng of whisperers

Septa Unella – not quite dead – being tortured by The Mountain

Walder Frey – dead – throat slit by Arya

Black Walder – dead – killed by Arya and chopped up into bits

Another Frey – dead – killed by Arya and chopped up into bits

This was a bigger slaughter episode (of main characters) than the Red Wedding I think.

This season seemed to be a house-cleaner of some of the major characters.

I usually don’t start watching until about half-way through a season. Then, I binge on 2 to 3 episodes at a time. That does make the seasons seem very short, however.

I had just finished watching something else that had 1-instrument/note backgrounds and last night’s episode had several 1-instrument/note background sounds, too.

Winter is here.

I thought it was there at the end of last season. Apparently, global warming delayed it.

They need to add more episodes or bring it to an end. It is difficult to remember all of the sub-plots and kingdoms and characters with a 9-1/2 month lapse between seasons.

I have to admit, the faith militant going toasty was satisfying in the extreme, but I hate that we lost Queen Marg in the conflagration. Loved that character.

Tommen, on the other hand, was too much of a naive impressionable wuss to lead a boy scout troop, much less a kingdom. Best trip he ever took, IMO.

A lot of talk here about succession.

I have to point out the obvious:
Aerys II was succeeded by Robert Baratheon.
Robert Baratheon was succeeded by two Lannister boys who were not related to him.

Succession is “whatever” in Westeros.

Have you noticed there are all women, (except at Winter Fell) on the thrones?

Since evberyone else is dead, Cersei is basically the only person in the government left alive. No one can fight against her.
She is outmatched though with Daenerys’ forces on the way to Dorne. From there they can invade north and take over all of Westeros. She has the Tyrells, the Dornish, the North, The Knights of the Vale and a huge Dothraki Army.
Plus she is the only person with an air force. One that can melt stone too.
Let’s be real, the only army in Westeros that can even fight the Targaryen’s is the White Walkers.
There is a book on Amazon called Black Belt in Game of Thrones Trivia. Pretty much everything you need to know for any Game of Thrones geek like me.
In fact they finally revealed who Jon Snow’s parents were. This is a famous fan theory. Now that even the TV show has hiom being a Targaryen, there is one missing Targ who will be riding the third dragon.
It’s explained in that trivia book too. It seems that the Mad King loved Tywin’s wife Joana. Guess what Tyrion is?
I just love the show, and this last episode was very good except for the time issues. Meaning Varys making it to Dorne then back to Danny in Mereen and then sailing towards Westeros, with by the way Tyrell ships, Ironborn and Dornish ships as well as her own flagged vessels.

I guess it’s obvious at this point. Jon Snow and The Dragon Queen will marry and unite the kingdoms so everyone lives happily ever after... or something like that.

Cercei will live till the very last episode then be killed. Her brother may live since they seem to be showing him as a reasonable person even he is incestuous. Then again; isn’t Jon Snow the son of a brother and sister? During the dream into the past the dying mom to the newborn Jon Snow called Ned Stark brother. Is he the father too?

Crowning Cersei without resolving Kevan is a big loose end. Won’t say it’s a mistake until we see if the show clarifies the point, but when last seen Kevan was the regent, was Top Lannister, and was a voice of sanity and thoroughly disgusted with the hash Cersei was making of things. That’s a lot for the show to simply forget. I would have thought they’d have killed him off first. Was his presence established in the sept prior to the fire? A number of faces were shown but I didn’t notice Kevan’s.

I find a satisfying symmetry in that we now have two queens who incinerated their political rivals/enemies will now face off next season.

It will be a short face off, since only one of them is fire proof.

My bet is that Jaime strangles Ceirse when he discovers she plans to blow up all of King’s Landing rather than surrender it to Dany’s (overwhelming) forces. Or maybe stabs her in the back exactly like he did the Mad King. Kingslayer becomes Queenslayer.
